jamesh2
Hey guys. i just got my first hooah from a bar the other day. i put out 60 big ones for it. i figured i might as well, they threw in a bag, tongs, a booklet, cleaning brush, and a few other things. i got that and 250 grams of hookah hookah honey tobaco. me and the better half lit her up last night to crisson her in. smoked like a champ, but only thing i noticed was that i felt like i could be getting a little bit thicker smoke. for my first session i felt i did ok. but we were talking about it and i think many things can be caused by heat control, so what tips can you guys offer to help me out? billy
Dont keep it in the middle, that way the ash falls through and you get harshness. Move the coal to the side and try adding another coal (half a coal)
jamesh2
thanks for your help billy, so keep like a whole one on one end and half on the other end? any other suggestions guys is greatly appreciated. im gonna stick with the hookah hookah tobaco for a bit till i get the heat control down then im grabbing some starbuzz so the quicker i learn the better :-)

L'Oignon
Sounds like you're using three kings to me. You're probably going to want to place another half-coal on there. There's a little sticky for beginners that you'll probably find useful.Heat management takes a little while to learn. I'm an infrequent smoker and I've only really learned now how to do it properly (fingers crossed!) but it'll come eventually.
3rooker
Here's a topic I started a while back. I learned a lot from it. Heat Management
ezie
Try to break the coal into 2 peices and place them on the outer ring of the bowl and work your way to the middle of the bowl. If its harsh try removing the coal and if the smoke is not thick add some more coal. Think you are using 3 kings QL they are the best. I hope you have a great session later peace
AinSophAur
try breaking them into 4 equal pieces and put them around the rim. Keep adding quarters till you get the thickness you want.
jamesh2
Wow, thanks a bunch for all your help guys. all this has given me a few clues as to what i can do better next time. i didnt have my tobaco tasting like coal or being TOO thin so i would say that from my first hosted session that i have only one way to go.
