Is My Mya Hose A Fake

Recommended Posts

just bought a MYA hose off ebay and i'm trying to decide if i've been scammed. The covering looks like leather but is coloured vinyl, and the ends are glued on and don't unscrew. It came in a bag that has MYA and 'made in china' on the bottom.Do any of you know if this sounds like a real Mya hose. blink.gif

the ends of a mya are supposed to unscrew? Like the metal tips at the end of the handles, or the whole thing?

edit: Did you happen to buy it off of user genuinehookahs (of hookah forum notoriety)?

edit 2: bought my hose of genuinehookahs, and I just found the stamp on the metal. Wow, that really is small. You'd think it was just a scratch or imperfection unless somebody told you about it. Edited by L'Oignon

Thanks InkyDave smile.gif

It looks very very much like my mya long-handled hose. The stitching and such. However the unscrew able handles are odd.

And the handles look a bit odd too.

Do either of the handles have the word 'MYA' stamped on them?

The handles dont have anything stamped on them.do MYA use synthetic leather , when i bye something which says leather i expect real leather, which was the first thing that set the alarm bells ringing when i got this.

not all mya handles unscrew. The cloisonne ones and the long handled ones do, but the normal short handled ones don't. Take a close look at the chrome ring at the base of the handle. it should have a very faint MYA stamped on it. It's small... so look carefully.

There are a lot of hoses out there that are similar, so it might be a fake. But not necessarily.

i have the exact same hose and it came with my mya diva off of hookah-shisha.com. The ends are glued on and hookah-shisha was a reliable site. However, if the ends are supposed to unscrew, then I've been smoking out of a fake for several months
