Hookah Shisha

Recommended Posts

Hey all,

I am wondering what shisha you recommend to a moderate hookah smoker, I bought a 30" ice torrent from hookah-shisha.com and I got some free romman bacco with it (rasberry and sweet melon). They are both good flavors, but about 30-45 mins in I start to feel sick. It seems the shisha burns easily and when I'm not burning it, I'm not getting enough smoke. I need some recommendations on what type of shisha to buy from hookah-shisha.com, I have about 40-50$ to spend, I have read the reviews thoroughly and I still can't decide what to get. I like fruity flavors if that has any merit.

Thanks in advance,
Casey

Starbuzz is a high quality tobacco thats requires minimal heat management, produces wonderful clouds, and is usually ver true to flavor. I just plop 2 halves of a 40mm 3 kings charcoal on the opposite sides of the bowl (using a med funnel bowl) at the 12 'oclock and 6 'oclock posissions and barely move them until they are done, then put on 2 more halves at the 3 'oclock and 9 'oclock and finish off the bowl. I've also heard that Layalina is of comparable quality, plus it costs half of what starbuzz does.

Socialsmoke(dot)com has a great selection of both, plus they are a really reputable company. Check them out.

I have reward points for hookah-shisha.com that is why I want to buy from there, if you had a choice from the selection that hookah-shisha.com provides what would you get?

Quite a few people on this forum seem to praise the Al Fakher brand of tobacco for being very jucy, taste ful, and overall high quality. I have not tried it, but I am sure if you start a thread in regards to how Al Fakher compares to Starbuzz or Layalina, you are bound to get a few informative responses.

If anyone reading this has smoked all three, please contribute.

I heard starbuzz is a very good brand but im afraid im not up to the strong taste seeing as i am a fairly new smoker

Um? where did you get the notion starbuzz tastes "strong"...thats def not the word I would use. "True to flavor" - yes, "tasty" - yes, "really flavorful" - yes, "strong" - huh.gif

Sounds like you have the wrong idea about starbuzz. Brands like Nakhla and Al-Waha taste "strong" and often unpleasant. From the flavors I've tried, starbuzz is usually very pleasant, easy to heat manage, etc. all the good stuff basically. Once you smoke it, I doubt you will def expect much more from the shisha you buy in the future. Kinda makes it hard to smoke other stuff and still enjoy it as much tongue.gif . I am still looking for a brand thats on par with starbuzz.

If you go with SB, i'd avoid strawberry, and strawberry chocolate...they were, well, not worth the money.

Well, as most people around these parts allready know, I am a huge fan of layalina.

I personally feel it is on a par with StarBuzz which appears to be over-hyped and over-priced.

For the cost/quality combination layalina is, in my opinion, a hands-down winner.

+1 The lounge I go to uses Layalina and the place is ALWAYS packed. I'd say if you're only a moderate smoker, go with Layalina, it's a better value and you get excelent quality. I have to agree with JD here. I am also a huge fan of Layalina. I get StarBuzz for the more "special" occasions due to it's "special" price. lol It's too expensive for me to use it as an everyday smoker. Layalina suits me just fine smile.gif.

KK, you've never had much luck with Layalina? Their strawberry is a bit bland, but cherry, orange, and mint kick ass!

you get what you pay for, as I think starbuzz stands almost by itself. there are a few brands that are close but starbuzz just seems to be an all around good tobacco. some of there newer flavors aren't that impressive. layalina is what i smoked forever and have tried practically every flavor they have. NOT BAD they are good for the price, definitely a better quality to cost ratio then starbuzz. if you have the money try starbuzz, if not try layalina. al fahker gets bigger, whiter clouds for me but layalina has overall better, more accurate flavors

I had cherry, strawberry, ,apple, eskadranini (sp) apple and banana ....
hated them all. I probably wont ever buy them again..... ew

it just didn't smoke well, or right. I never got a good taste, they all tasted bland, and i dunno. i dont know if it was a bad batch,
but i'll never again waste money on it.

Layalina is a great shisha, and one of my 3 favorite tobaccos ever is Layalina Rose. HOWEVER,

1. It is a washed brand, so there is very little nicotine buzz
2. Many of their flavors which i have tried tend to be flavorless, or very weak

For me, tobacco is in this order: (keep in mind, ive never had starbuzz).
1. Fumari is the best there is. Period.
2. Tangiers is a very close second, only because i have tried only two flavors (3 more on the way though).
3. Al Waha and Al Fahker are both good, but both have flavors that suck too.
4. Al Amir and Layalina have a few really good flavors, but almost no nicotine.
5. Nahkla strawberry and grape are the only ones ive ever enjoyed.
6. Afzal is a very very weird ground up tobacco, only liked the peach of the 8 i tried.
7. Pharoahs, Sultan, and Crystal all blow.

Hey all,

Well we have tryed basically every tobacco out there and here is our opinion on the 3 everyone seems to be buzzing about in this thread.

Starbuzz - A super fine tobacco. High quality leaves and ultra fine chop give it a smooth and thick smoke. The price seems too high for the quality and there is little to no actual "buzz" when smoking it. The high price is mainly due to the exotic list of flavors, much like Tangiers and Smileys, which is worth it if you like exotic shisha.

Al Fakher - Also a high quality tobacco. The flavors are rich and the shisha is juicy, but it can be too juicy and make it hard to smoke when all the liquid starts to drip down your hookah stem. Its priced fairly for the quality and provides a pretty ecent "buzz".

Layalina - On the same level as Al Fakher with similar characteristics. Seems to have a consistantly good amount of moisture, not too drippy or too dry. Long list of flavors, second only to Fumari and priced great. You can find some awesome prices online.

We smoke alot of Havana and Layalina and sometimes Al Fakher. We tend to stay away from Starbuzz because of the high price and we are not real interested in the exotic flavors.

Hope this helps. wink.gif

Try Havana and Al Fakher. AF gives you thick smoke and the flavor will last till the last puff. All you need to master is the heat management. Once you master that you'll have a great session all the time. My favorite AF are : strawberry,Mint, Grape, Double Apple and try their Golden line too [haven't try them though but i heard good things about them]. Havana is pretty much same as AF but if you can't get AF then go with Havana taste similiar but AF taste great. Also try starbuzz and Al waha afternine taste just AWESOME. Peace smile.gif Have a nice smoking session
