I'm probably going to sound stupid but I recently bought a three hose hookah that is suppose to have an auto seal, but I can't for the life of me figure out how it works.
I've tried twising and turning everything every which way but the other two still weren't sealing. I ended up sitting on the floor with my fingers stuck in them.

From what I understood, Autoseal is exactly that.... You shouldn't "need" to do anything, it should be that when you pull from one hose, the other 2-3-4 are "automatically" sealed. I'd get that checked out.

lol unscrew the hose ports or w/e. and check if theres a ball bearing ?? lol

With autoseal there is a little ball bearing that when you pull in air from your hose...the ball bearings in the other hose ports move into place and block off any airflow... you shouldn't have to do anything at all... when you pull in on your hose does the hookah bubble like normal, or or does it barely bubble or maybe none at all? If it's bubbling like normal that means the autoseal is working

Well I didn't think I'd have to do anything, but when it wasn't working I thought maybe so.
There is a ball bearing in them.
It barely bubbles unless I'm blocking the other two with my finger, it's also alot easier to pull when they're blocked. Edited by smoker6146

Then Its not working right... the whole point is that you shouldn't have to cover the other hoses.

On another note, I'm also having trouble figuring out the best water level.
It's tough because not only is the one a completely different shape (it's a rotator), the vase is black and I can't see through it.

Since you can't see the water level, fill it to the point where when you pull in on the hose it bubbles just right...if theres too much the pull will be harder and water will get into the hoses, too little and the smoke won't be filtered through the water. So as long as it is bubbling right you should be fine

one tip - once you do find the right water level, get a cheap "water" bottle and pour the water out of the hookah into the bottle. Mark the bottle and now you'll know how much water you'll need for future smoking sessions.

Damn that's a good idea. I've been avoiding buying a cheap black Junior just for that reason. That's a really good idea. I'm positive I would've eventually thought of it, but I would've gone through lots of agony first lol.

Auto seal aint perfect, your trying to get a seal with metal on metal for the most part, unless it has some form of rubber peice inside to seal it, which if im right none do. A small rubber ball will give a better seal, or remove the ball bearings and just use your finger to seal your hose when others are hitting, and stoppers when the other ports aren't in use.

Auto seal is not really worth its supposed ease, as it can also restrict the air flow.

i have an auto seal and never had any problems with it...it may be because mine doesnt have any metal ball bearings...its plastic and its more of a rod/cone shaped that fits and clogs the hole alot better...then it has a stopper with holes in it so you dont suck it in when you pull...it works quite well actually...maybe you can jimmy rig something like that...
