Question About The Size

I did a search for this but I didnt find any answers.

A friend of me who talks alot thinks a large hookah smoke is alot worse than a small hooka. But I own both a large a big hookah and a small and I mean the big one is way better than the small one!

so do any one knows if there is anything "worse" with a large hookah than a small hooka?

No. You just need to get your heat management right. You have to be careful with smaller hookahs though because you have a higher chance of getting carbon monoxide poisoning. But small hookahs can smoke a lot better than large ones. It's all about technique.

HE's bang on the money. My teeny tiny fatuta smokes as well as my 3ft Nargila's.

One point though - i find a bigger vase (irrispective of the size of the stem) makes smoke a bit better....

Apart from that... size dosn't matter (at least that what Mrs J tells me )

Yeap, I have one from both ends: 17" and 33". At once I thought larger was better, but now I know it's not the size of the stem, but how it's used (heat, packing, base set-up). JD is right about the larger base size, that does seem to affect things more than stem size. Edited June 2, 2007 by lazria

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Size doesn't matter says Mrs. J lol. I agree with the bigger vase though. sometimes the base is soo small, it's just a pain. You can find replacement vases for mini and small hookahs all over the web. Just do a search.

it more depends on the quality of the hookah, rather than the size. a crappy 33'' hookah is going to smoke like ass, while a quality 17'' is going to smoke well...size really doesn't have much to do with it...

I agree with TX here. It is all in the technique of how you heat your shisha. Quality doesn't have as much to do with it.

See, it has more to do with the technique of how you heat and manage your shisha. A 10" Pumpkin hookah can smoke just as good as a 45" Egyptian. And everyone knows how good and bad Pumpkins can be. This proves that it's not about quality. You can still make a shitty hookah smoke well. It's all in the technique. You have 4 people telling you this. Trust us. It's all in your technique.

here is how i see it. CO is heavier than air so it will automatically go down the stem regardless of how long the stem is.

Shorter distance = the more you catch. It's still hot. Heat rises. You are closer to the source, too.

I'm just going by what i've encountered...I know how to set hookahs up correctly, but you can't tell me that if you've got a badly constructed, big old hookah that's leaking, won't set up well, and all that won't smoke as well as a well constructed hookah. I know that you can get a bad hookah smoking decently, but a well constructed hookah vs a crappy hookah, when both set up correctly, will smoke better, and you can't deny that at all.

I'm not getting pissy. I'm assuming you have somewhat good quality. I don't know of anyone who smokes from a leaking hookah. You can make pretty much any hookah smoke well.
