Akkbar
Well, thanks to the wisdom of my fellow hookah smokers, I FINALLY got my Tangiers smoking properly.I was a bit disappointed with the flavour (Lime), but it was a pleasurable experience. I find that the smoke doesn't taste like the baccy smells. But at least I now want to try other flavours. The smoke wasn't harsh like it was in the past (acrid), but the tobacco was very strong; a bit too strong even for a pipe and cigar guy like myself. Can anyone suggest a Tangiers flavour that is very flavourful and a bit less strong?Worth mentioning is the fact that I was ready to give up on Tangiers, but I re-read the smoking tips last night (this morning) and decided to give it one last try... and I'm glad I did! Part of the problem is that where I am (Calgary), its so dry, and Tangiers is made in a much more humid climate... but today there was supposed to be thundershowers, so I figured today was the best day to try. I acclimated the bowl for 13 hours, and I actually made a huge difference from when I tried it the last 6 or so times. Here is the setup I used. I put pretty warm water in the base, and used 3 thirds of a Taru quicklight (these coals are crap, btw). Also, my mini Mya doesn't purge at all. Not a bit. Oh well. 3rooker
13 HOURS?! Holy crap! But acclimating does make the difference between pleasurable smoke and harsh smoke.TX

taiwontonboy
i got blue gum ball and it's pretty nice, i smoke cigarettes cigars and shisha, but it isn't too over-powering.i was about to give up on tangier, cause i can rarely get it to smoke correctly, but this thread inspires me to keep at it. i'm going to give it another go right now, and try it with the warm water. lazria
try some kiwi, that's pertty strong or just aim for the Kashmir peach, that's a nice mellow smoke - I FINALLY scored some and got it to smoke just right myself yesterday. I didn't let mine sit 13 hr, but only 6... that seems to be the biggest thing that alters Tangiers. And I'm envious of you - i wanted a red phunnel but settled for black
hookah hippie
I really want to get on the Tangiers band wagon but I usually don't smoke in the same places so it would be hard to accumulate
