Idea For New Hookah

Recommended Posts

Maybe a glazed terracotta vase with an antiqued brass stem and a brown leather washable hose. Just thought of this. It would have a Mediterranean vibe to it. What do you guys think? Would you buy a hookah like this?

Sounds like my mom's ideal hookah. She loves that sort of highly decorative stuff, and if she can use it, then that's all the better happy.gif

The terracotta's definitely got to be glazed, at least on the inside. Even though the clay's baked in a kiln, it can absorb water and eventually weaken to the point of breaking. Glazes prevent that. If it were glazed entirely, then it would most likely be dishwasher safe. Edited by Allia22

I guess I need to start drawing it up and make some. Lol. Apparently I have some people that would like them. I'll draw one up and scan it and post an image. I'll make a few different styles to see what you guys like best.

That'll teach you for coming up with a good idea. tongue.gif Looking forward to seeing what you come up with.

[attachment=361:DSC04385_copy.jpg]Here are my ideas. I'm a decent artist. But these were just quick brainstorming sketches. I only made it with one stem. More will come if enough of you are interested. Let me know what y'all think!

Nice, depending on what the base looks like on the outside. I see white glazed, with blue - like fine china plates.... solid brass stem - although I would suggest a taller more authentic looking stem design (My little modern has a stem in the shape you've drawn). Hum... wish I had taken more pottery classes.

I like this one. You thinking of making the stem too, or are you going to something like an egyptian and just make the vases? Notice how we already have you going into production? laugh.gif

Just thought of one thing, though. It's going to be a bit of a pain getting the correct water level if you can't see throught the vase. There are ways around that, though, so don't stop the designing! Can't wait to see how you're going to decorate the outside.

Yea, I'll keep drawing up ideas. I have never really done any metal work in my life. So I might just buy stems until I can afford to make my own. I'll keep brainstorming and see what I come up with. This is a good business to get in to. smile.gif
