The King
Well, I'm going to be making quite a large order pretty soon, probably like 2 or 3 kilos of shisha along with coals a small funnel, mod, and a new hookah!Anyways, I want something that smokes really well, most important is flavor. I love how starbuzz smokes with a lot of flavor and isn't very heat sensitive. Thats what I'm looking for, something that isn't very heat sensitive. Starbuzz though as you all know, is a bitch to pay for. So i am thinkin AF or Layalina. I've never tried layalina, but Ive tried AF once and it smoked well with big clouds, but the banana flavor was weak. SO..... what do you prefer, or another brand that's around the price thats better? aldonb1
i'd say Layalina is = to AF but it has the + of having a buzz

Calcartman
Layalina definitely is not unwashed. There is almost no nicotine buzz ive ever felt, which saddens me.Having said that, i liked AF Cherry better than Layalina Cherrry, but Layalina Melon better than AF Melon.I chose Layalina, cause their rose is my 3rd favorite shisha of all time. DrShisha
Iv had both. Layalina has never given me a buzz, you just cant class nakhla which is supposed to be unwashed with layalina which is supposed to be unwashed. Lol you try nakhla mandarin, it will put you on your bum whereas layalina never. Its nice flavourful good clouds, cheap as chips for the money, but Al Fakher jus has that ooomph about it to me, they take pride in their tobacco, lots of new flavours coming out. They control 60% of the UAE market, and thats with a reason. My 2 pennies/cents. Banana you would normally use a mixer, it is considered as a weak flavour usually because its hard to convert that flavour from the fruit! which is understandable. Try Al Fakher Grapes, that just class, i just went through a whole kilo. When i buy al fakher, i have a smile on my face! i dont know why lol. When its layalina its just whatever. Buy Some Layalina Peach/Watermelon they supposed be well good, and dab your hand in the sea al fakher and see what you find. Just remember one thing, what you might not like somebody might adore, thats the way it works unfortunately.
symptom CY
Layalina definitely is unwashed. I've got 4 packages in front of me that say .5 nicotine, and my head says the same if I smoke it for too long AF is the winner for sure. In many cases, Layalina has better flavoring (at least, with the current lineup of basic AF flavors,) but AF smokes way better. I don't really like the way Layalina smokes... needs too much heat. Allia22
I got a bunch of packs of AF with my first hookah and I loved it pretty much right away. Everyone on here started ranting about Layalina, so I got a sample pack of that... I wasn't too thrilled. Everything had a decidedly floral flavor to it (lemon? My god, there was no sign of lemon to it >.<).
hookahlife
To me they are pretty equal in flavor and buzz. Also, just to chime in Layalina is washed. They are a premium tobacco, and are made just like the others. AF also has nicotine in it, all tobacco's do. Depending on which flavors you like you should choose that tobacco. Layalina is known for the Watermelon, Passion Fruit, Mango, Kiwi, Kiwi/Strawberry and Strawberry. Al Fakher has good Cherry, Cola, Ark Sous (Licorice), Mango, Melon and also Strawberry.Hope this helps.
newsman
I just got my first two tubs of Layalina the other day; pear and raspberry. I've tried them both now. The pear starts out like pear, then the flavor kind of morphs into something else. The raspberry tasted a little like the red shell on a candy apple, not bad, but not the kind of tangy raspberry kick I was hoping for. Then again, my Romman raspberry was a little weak too. Maybe that's just what I should expect from that flavor. Anyway, overall, I prefer AF, especially their strawberry, grape, cherry and cola. And the price difference between the two isn't enough to make me give up my AF. But liek DrShisha said everyone's taste is different, you might want to give them both a try. 3rooker
Definitely Layalina. Best bang for your buck.TX
ezie
I like Af and Layalina both. So it's a hard choice for me to vote and the price is the same here in my country which is $3.75 US for the 50g so i can't complaint about the price. Have tried Layalina Rasberry and will try another flavor if i can find them here in my country. Both brand are worth your money thats just my opinion peace have a great session
billy
AF for sure, Layalina is just crap, I never get any taste from it.

3rooker
QUOTE (billy) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Layalina is just crap, I never get any taste from it.Then you are doing something wrong. Layalina is next to StarBuzz. But Layalina is better for quality to price ratio. I would totally get a tub of Layalina Orange or Cherry. Layalina Strawberry was kind of bland for me. The mint is very cooling and refreshing. I would HIGHLY reccomend Layalina.TX
Ehagen8008
im with king...was just about to buy a shipment online after having smoked all the stuff that came with my hookah (nakhla)...it was OK...but nothing great...the talk around here is all about layalina and AF...not quite sure which one to get either...also...i want to try some grape...which one has a better grape flavor?? 3rooker
Try some of both, see which one you like better. I'm all about the Layalina though.TX
Calcartman
tied at 14-14.I think that pretty much sums up this battle haha. Even if it was 15-13, the point is pretty clear.
theghost
I would smoke Layalina before ANYTHING else. You can't beat the value. The 50g packs are more often than not awful - I wouldn't suggest them. I would recommend orange, peach, rose, black grape, blackberry, watermelon, and mint. I second that strawberry is not good. It was completely flavorles. Edited June 8, 2007 by theghost
