Did you check out their shared links...all junk sales sites EXCEPT...interesting that smokinghookah is there.
bcoll
Hello, All Man, I wish that I had found this forum earlier. Anyways, I have placed an order at royalhookahs.com, so we'll see if I get yanked around too. I paid with paypal, so at least there is some protection. I was purchasing one of their midnight junior hookahs w/ case, which was listed as in stock when I placed my order, and now miraculously say out of stock . Either its fishy or i'm getting the last one. Anyway, to be on the safe side I ordered a black junior hookah w/ case from tasqueem, which seems to come highly recommended here and on e-bay. Assuming I get both eventually, i've got a nice gift for someone, if not, well paypal should have my back. It might be a good idea to have a "stickied" thread at the top of the forum, listing recommended vendors, as well as a list of those forum members have had troubles with. mushrat
Pay pal cover your back? HAH Pay pal can take up to 30 days to try and resolve any problems. They CAN take longer if they want to. And even if they rule in your favor, read the small print, they don't actually say they will get you your money back, they claim they will get as much back as they reasonably can. NEVER count on pay-pal for buyer protection. The only people who claim they protect the buyer is THEM. My Royalhookah shipment was supposedly sent USPS parcel post. You better hope they don't send yours that way. I'd really really suggest staying with more well kknown places. GOOD LUCK!
bcoll
Oh, I'm not counting on them to completely cover my back. This is the price I pay for not researching the place before placing an order, which I usually do with anything on the net, don't know why it didn't occur to me before ordering a hookah. Maybe I was blinded by the shiny black stem piece What I really meant to say was between paypal, my bank, and my personal commitment to not getting screwed, if royalhookahs.com tries anything then I will not go quietly into the night. I'm sure if I complained long and loud enough it could damage their affiliation as "Paypal Verified" But i'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt for the moment. I searched the forum, and you seem to be the first publicly posted order from them, as well as the first publicly posted screw-over. So they are 0/1 at the moment, we'll see what happens. And your right, unless you buy the extra buyer protection from Paypal, unless you are bidding on something through ebay, you only get what they can recover. I'll stay off of the warpath for the moment and watch this unfold.....
bcoll
An update: Recieved a nice e-mail back from royalhookahs.com concerning my order. I had sent them an e-mail asking to switch over to the standard junior hookah if the other one was out of stock (which it is for a couple of weeks). They offered to credit me the difference, or throw in a 250g jar of Sultan. Being me, of course i'll take the Sultan. I appreciate the prompt response I got, so hopefully the rest of the transaction will go smoothly.
mushrat
From what i hear, sultan Ma'assel sucks. Should have taken the money. See if you can get a phone number out of them.
bcoll
Really? I actually have a jar of the Sultan cappuchino flavor around that is pretty tasty. Very, very moist stuff, literally bathed in molasses. It takes quite a bit of heat to get it smoking properly. Ever since I picked up that jar, I've wanted to try one of their other flavors. I'll let you know whether or not it's terrible
cypress
I have heard the same with sultan. I have never tried it but most people in here would agree. Of course there is a big argument in here about Nakhla. I am not sure who is winning but IMO its not for me.
Jeff_T
THe only Sultan ma'assel i've smoked was an apple blend, it wasn't bad, just not my thing. It was very much and anise and slight apple taste, but whew! the buzz was crazy. since then i've wanted to try some other flavors to see how they are. mushrat
Jeff-T, I can get jars of sultan at the local smoker-friendly. What kind where you looking for?
