wyteboy
they messed up my request to hold the pkg from math, so now I won't be getting it til Monday. Ill review those Romman flavors sometime next week.....I am still gonna hit the hookah and smoke the last of my AF Cherry and also another bowl of the AF Melon (have about 2 bowls worth left I think). I am excited to smoke the Cherry again outside and also to smoke the Melon for a 3rd time, as if you remember I had 2 EXTREMELY different smokes from it, the latter being an AMAZING smoke, so we'll see if the 3rd time is the charm (again) I'll post reviews tomorrow... Hope you all have a good weeknd!!

Mathazar
Hey wyteboy, I've developed an EXCELLENT system of smoking with Romman. Since you're only getting samples from me, you're not going to want to waste any of it. I've found that the BEST system for setting-up the bowl is to: 1. Sprinkle half a bowl of Romman into the bowl.....Don't pack it at all. 2. Poke just enough holes to fit the number of coals you're using. 3. Use 1.5 GOLDEN COALS.........Heat them til they're REDHOT. I'm smoking Romman Lemon right now, and I'm getting an AWESOME draw, LOTS of flavor, and TONS of smoke!!! Can't wait to read your reviews
wyteboy
Thanks math! Using the Goldens with the Romman will depend on if I can smoke outside or not, otherwise I'll use the nour or the 3kings... Question, what does poke just enough holes to fit the coals mean? Does more holes or less holes/ bigger holes or smaller holes/ provide more smoke? More holes means easier chance to burn right? wyteboy
p.s. I can't wait to review it either! I'll review them sometime between tues-Saturday, hopefully Tuesday or Wednesday!
Mathazar
Well, this is just my theory, but if you have too many holes you're getting extra air into the bowl which means less heat distribution. The less holes you have, the more the heat will be evenly distributed. If you have 1.5 coals, you'll want to poke just enough holes to surround the coals, any more holes and you're pulling extra air in, and since the extra air is cool air it's going to make the temperature in the bowl drop. If the temperature in the bowl drops, it's going to cause less vapor which means less smoke. The size of your holes matter, too, because if you poke BIG holes your tobacco has a greater chance of burning because there's more heat entering the bowl, whereas smaller holes will lessen the likelyhood of it burning, and it will prolong the length of your smoking time. I could go into more detail, but it's been my experience that practice makes perfect. You're simply going to have to try-out these methods and see if it works for you. I've been buying a lot of maassel lately and have developed my own system and it works pretty damn well. Since you don't have a lot of maassel to practice with, I'm passing these tips along to you so that you won't unneccessarily have to waste maassel while trying to develop a method that works for you. Use these tips, and I guarantee you success. Oh, and btw, when I say small holes, I don't mean pinhead-sized. I use a toothpick, I poke the holes rather quickly, but I poke them about the size of the tip of the pick, and not too close together. I know that sounds confusing, so that's why you're going to have to practice and develop a method that works for you. As long as you understand the theory of heat distribution and how cool air can effect the heat which causes the moisture in the tobacco to vaporize, then you shouldn't have any trouble understanding the method of poking holes. Maybe someone else can add some input here which will clearly make sense of all this for you. It's difficult to describe the theory so that others can understand it. You really have to do it dozens of times to get your method down so that you can learn from your own experience
