sznapsy
http://youtube.com/watch?v=j8cpNKW0_QE&...ated&search=I saw this setup, where he makes a foil ring then sets it ontop of the foil and puts even more foil ontop of the ring and places the charcoal ontop of that. Is this a good way to do it? What exactly does it do? I have a Mya-Mini and curious if this helps at anything, I smoke Romman tobacco, with Romman coals. Plus you don't get as good of heating and it takes too long to do. It's not worth it. Just double up on your foil.TX

sznapsy
New to forums, trying to get used to all the searching and stuff. I have been noticing that my tobacco is burning too quick and thats why I am saying this, I think it might be because of charcoal screen? Is foil alot better then the screens? 3rooker
Six to one. Everyone has their opinion. But if you use foil, make sure you double up. (2 sheets)TX

3rooker
QUOTE (Calcartman) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>There is no reason to double the foil.Well I find it helps when you like to pack the bowl a little bit more full than usual. And it's just a preventive measure to ensure you don't burn the shisha.TX
DrunkenWizard
I double up as well. Better heat control in my opinion.

Calcartman
ive never double foiled anything. More metal retains more heat, the goal is to get the foil to transfer the heat, not hold it.
The King
Well if the coal shisha set up your using seems to burn easily use double foil... if not, use a single layer. It doesn't matter
anathema
well, if the coal is touching the foil, and the foil is touching the shisha, then i guess it might burn since it is really close. the double layer would fix that problem.the set up doesn't allow you to manage which part of your bowl to heat, which should be the outer edges at the beginning. hookahlife
With regards to that special method on You Tube. We have tried it and it worked once and once it didnt. The time that it worked, the smoke was really good, the other time it just didnt pull. I think the trick is to use different size holes in each layer of foil, if you notice they use a pin on the first layer and a toothpick on the second. Personally, I just stick with one layer of foil or a glass screen cover.
cafesaden
i have never doubled up my foil either, maybe you all just need more practice with heat management . plus more foil = more imparted flavor that is uneccessary. this is why the best flavor comes from all glass
