Tangiers In California And Pennsylvania, Sales Outlet Expansion

Recommended Posts

Hey, when you come up to the Easy Bay be sure to hit up the guys at Whelan's Tobacco
They carry the "standard" stuff, Havana, Pharoah's, and just started carrying Starbuzz about a month ago. They're the only place they guys in my house do business with up here, and the owner owns a hookah shop a little bit away from Berkeley.

If you want a place to crash up here, too, my house rolls deep on hookahs, there are about four nargiles in the house which get smoked at least once a day each, and the one in my room burns at least three times a day, though I will admit Tangiers is viewed as a bit of a menace in the tobacco shelves and puts anyone on their ass whenever they smoke it. Hit me up with a PM if you want to talk, I've been up here two years at school and have a fair amount of knowledge about what goes down in the area esp. with the Cal students.

Samples are on their way to Whelan's...anyone who goes there, remember to mention to Ziad that you love Tangiers and want a local place to sell it!

Also, any more retailers in PA/CA that people haven't told me about?

Stop in or call these places, if their near you, tell them you want Tangiers. Its a big help to me...makes it easier to sell them the brand when people call in and want it.

I live in Pittsburgh and you would be my hero if you sold out here! There are 3 lounges in the area, I will PM the info to you ASAP!!!! I haven't been to any of them for a while as we usually smoke at various friend's houses, but I don't remember them having Tangier's back then. I could be wrong.

P.S. Pittsburgh has Primanti's sandwiches, and the Cathedral of Learning. <333333333333333333

Pittsburgh would be great, I lived a year in Pitt when I was a little baby. It was the longest I'd ever been away from San Diego, it was the great blizzard of '72, too. Are there any retail stores that sell tobacco near you?

Who likes Tangiers and lives in California? I am planning a trip to NorCal soon. I would like to expand distribution in NorCal (and pass through LA/San Bernardino on the way).

Also, who lives in PA, likes Tangiers, but has no retail store near them to buy it from?

My favorite shop in Downey just added Starbuzz and are expanding their hookah inventory. I think they'd appreciate a visit and they seem to be selling quite a bit of hookahs, shisha, etc., because the inventory is rotating through pretty quickly from my observation. Downey is about 15 south of downtown L.A., the owners are Egyptian and last time I was in there the owner was going to plan time to join the forum because he loves the fact that hookah smoking is finally getting the recognition it deserves. Send me a PM if you can spare the time to make the stop/contact. And as I posted in the Southern California thread, Downey is VERY central to most of the Los Angeles/Orange County metropolis. So it might be a very good base to spread out from.

What's the name of the place/guy? Contact info? Do you want to tell him that he needs to buy Tangiers?

I'm going in there tomorrow or Monday and I will get you a full address and name of who to speak to. There's nothing on the outside displaying the name or ownership except "tobacco". But the guy I usually talk to is a huge supporter to the art and tradition of hookah, and looks to constantly improving the quality of his merchandise and expanding his clientele. They've been in business at least 7-8 years and also have a walk in humidor for cigars. I'll get you the information and post it publically becauwse they are a great location - about 6 blocks off I-5, easy to get to and from in Southern California, and I will tell him that yes he should talk to you about carrying Tangiers. Funny I've never asked his name, but when I bought a tin of Starbuzz from him for a birthday gift, I almost asked him when was he going to start carrying Tangiers since he was willing to sell American made shisha!

Oh, yeah, you guys will all be able to buy Tangiers in North Carolina soon. I think I'll be able to send it out Monday, in fact.

Yes, Boho, PM me the information. I'd appreciate it.

Downey! Isn't that near Norwalk?

If anybody sends me a contact name/number, also send me your address and telephone number if you feel comfortable with that, so I can get in touch with you and send you some tobacco. Edited by Sonthert

Tang/Son, I can verify that there are 3 lounges in Pittsburgh, and the college students are in to it. How do I know? Because I was on the front cover of the Pitt Student News for smoking hookah. Had a nice interview as well. I'll scrounge up contact info for the 3 hookah bars.

As I promised I'm posting this publically as well:

Royal Tobacco
7946 E. Florence Avenue
Downey, CA 90241

(562) 928-1113

They have hookahs, shisha, and a walk in humidor for cigars.

If you're there in the afternoons ask for Sam the owner. He's now a member of the forum!

I live near Pittsburgh and there are a few tobacco stores that I buy from, specifically one in the mall 5 min from my house, I'd be great to be able to get tangiers from there or somewhere near, just like everyone else I HATE waiting for shipping.
