clickhea
Decided to take this girl to a hookah bar so she could try hookah for her first time. Living on long island there isnt many choices.. but we happened to find a small place which has only been open for a month or so. There really wasnt much to the place, few sofas 2 small tvs on mute and some music playing in the backround. We sit down, and i ask what kinda shisha is used, both the guy and the girl who were working the floor had no idea. They also had no idea which kinda coals were used either.. okay fine. We ordered double apple. The hookah comes out with the wind cover on top and i look through the top to see what the coal placement looks like.. there was none. There were 3 coals just bunched up in the middle under the wind cover. So i take a hit, and it was horrible, way too harsh(no surprise here). I removed a coal and put the wind cover back. Now it diddnt taste harsh, but there were hardly any clouds at all. I tried playing around with the placement but i just couldnt get it to hit at all. The shisha was probably some cheap garbage. Very horrible expierence, i kept trying to explain to her this isnt how its suppose to be done.. and told her when she comes over i'll light mine up and show her.I was looking around the place at others who were smoking and no one was getting any clouds what so ever. Kinda sad, because places like this will leave horrible first impressions on new comers.
anathema
places like those need to be shut down. or everyone needs to be fired.sounds like the bowl wasn't packed full enough. all the hookah bars in OC, california are all awesome with projectors, at least a 40 inch flat screen tv, and a mix of middle eastern music and mainstream club and hip hop rb music.tell your first-timer friends to breath out smoke while laughing and tell them the smoke does something cool. Hookah is for chilling not for insane crappy rap or pop lol. Alot just play American music and ugh i dont like it much. But there are alot of hotties that go to the lounges.. so im still down
anathema
there's one that plays loud music and there's one that doesn't, i just stopped going to the loud music one because they didn't have starbuzz marlett and lied about it on several occasions, then the managers smelled it and said it was marlett but it didn't smoke like it. they thought we were too noob to know it wasn't. anathema
H Dream Cafe (as how it's listed on mapquest) is the one that's really loud, the tables are too close together but the sofa seating has more room. it's on brookhurst and ball, same lot as the sizzlers.A Fusion Cafe is the one with low music, spacious seating, and slow coal replacement. They show movies on their projectors sometimes when I go early.edit: this one is on like brookhurst and orangeonly two i frequent Edited June 13, 2007 by anathema

bachdragon
my worst experience was this hookah bar back east in NY. I will not say their name, because thats just mean, but they had the worst tobacco, almost no service, dirty hookahs, cramps space. To add to it all, the prices were high and the belly dancers were fat and didn't know how to dance. It was not good I tell you.
