jaker29902
the head of my hose attaches to the actual hose part, meaning it has a quarter inch opening into an inchish wide hose, I know this cause I cut it open because it rusted, I was wondering can I just get some quarter inch vinyl tubing and attach, or do yall think I would notice a real difference in the negative? Scheetz
Well, to me the a MYA wide hose was a bit easier to pull through than a standard MYA hose. But really I could care less as its not much of a difference. Just go with the same tubing as the hose size was bought with.
jaker29902
Well I did and now Id have to buy clamps to get it air-tight, and those clamps are kinda expensive, but I guess its cheaper than buying new hoses Edited June 16, 2007 by jaker29902
unleashtheclown
vinyl tubing should make it hit a lot more freely, which would be better imo. Only drawback to vinyl hoses are they're ridgid, and can make Your hookah tip over

symptom CY
Hose width makes a world of a difference, but the pull will only be as good as the smallest airway in the hookah, be it the holes in the foil, holes in the bowl, width of stem, heart and host port airways... I didn't think Mya wide was very good at all because the mouthpiece tip is kinda narrow. My best hitting hose is made from vinyl tubing and one of those acrylic hose mouthpieces -- the tubing fits over the mouthpiece very snug.
3rooker
A wider hose makes a difference, but I wouldn't say a WORLD of difference. I mean yea, it makes it easier to pull. It's like breathing, it's that easy, for me at least. But it really doesn't matter. I don't care about how easy it pulls. I don't look for the perfect smoke every time. A perfect smoke for me is being around great people conversing and making memories. That's a perfect smoke. Hose widths mean next to nothing to me. Just my two cents.TX
symptom CY
Well, a nice smoking experience needs a little more than good company... I find it much more comfortable to not have to really pull hard on the hose to take a hit, and I think it enhances the experience for everyone. A lot of people when smoking my hookah for the first time remark on how nice it is compared to their past experiences, and what people most often mention is how easy it is to take a hit. If you don't think it's all that important, well then I guess it doesn't really matter... but if we're talking about tweaking the performance of your hookah, the pull is a crucial variable and the width of the hose is one determining factor. I think I want a wider hose now. Plus you'll be more relaxed because it's more natural pull than having to suck on it like a vaccuum. Jamal
I usually wrap tissue around the end of my hose and stick it in just to make it air secure, the more air tight the better.

porkchop
It doesn't, tx. I don't know why, but I prefer the standard hoses over the wider ones.
oggie505#2
what makes a difference is the hose ends, even though the hose is wide, there is still a certain amount of smoke that can go through the tips at one time. What would be good, is a nice wide hose with wide tips

symptom CY
I'm willing to bet that Nammor hose from Hookah-Shisha has a really nice pull. I've never tried it myself though... as I said, my best hitting hose is one I made with one of those acrylic mouthpieces and some cheap 1/2" ID vinyl tubing from Lowes. I'd like to try some of this tubing, but it's expensive: http://www.usplastic.com/catalog/product.a...oduct%5Fid=8530

symptom CY
Yeah, I guess it's a good price for two hoses, but you still have to worry about getting a mouthpiece. Luckily I had an extra one because Hookah Company accidentally sent me a hose I didn't order...

symptom CY
It's actually not quite as cool as you're probably imagining -- at least not with the cheap vinyl tubing. The whole inside just kinda stays white with condensation.
EternalSoil
I bought one of those nammor hoses and i love it! it really made a huge difference for me. it really is like breathing almost its so big. if you have a smaller hookah you might consider something else. this overpowers my 17". i recommend these hoses to anyone, though the price it kinda steep compared to other hoses. Sonthert
Yash is an expert on this sorta thing. Hose size does, actually, matter. The larger the hose, the lower the pressure drop, so the easier it draws...too easy is bad, too.
