mrmonk7663
Hello everyone. I am trying to find a place where I can buy lules from. Does anyone know where these can be purchased by themselves? The lule is the cone shaped part that the bowl fits over. Also, I would like to find some of the cones that the hoses connect into also. If anyone has any information that might help me I would appreciate it. By the way, I just found this place and from the little reading i've done it looks like a great forum. Thanks, mike
taiwontonboy
i think you're talking about grommets. you can find them on any site.
Victim026
If your in a pinch and don't have grommets then cut up a napkin into strips and wrap it around the end of the hose and plug it in, same goes for the bowl, they work just as well as grommets... Sonthert
Some people actually call them gaskets. PM me your address and I'll send you some gaskets. The difference between a gasket and a grommet is...well...let Wikipedia start this one off:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GrommetGrommets sure resemble our gaskets, but grommets are used to protect one material from another (which kinda applies to crummy Egyptian pipes and sharp burrs against the hose stems) or they lengthen the life of a hole (like those little cloth protectors people used to put on ledger page's holes...so the page wouldn't wear out as fast).http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GasketGaskets are used to seal the space between two parts. I would say the primary function of the doo-hickees on our hookahs is to prevent gas leakage...in other words to seal. It's probably true that our items are a little gasket and a little grommet, but I think they tend to lean more towards gaskets since the only time I don't use one is when it doesn't leak without one and is too large with one. I would also say that a good hose port would be made in such a manner that a hose stem didn't need to be protected from it.
mrmonk7663
Sonthert, thanks for the gasket hookup, I can surely use them for my new project,. I appreciate it alot. My post though was not talking about the gaskets though, I am talking about the lule. The lule is the cone at the top of the hookah. You put the cone shaped gasket over the lule. The lule is the cone at the top that is made out of metal and is usually threaded to the stem. The other cone I am talking about for the hose I actually found at MN hookah, it is the piece that is used to convert a one hose to a two hose. Anyway, so if anyone knows where you can but just the metal cone lule let me know. Thanks everyone!!! Peace and happy smoking.Mike Edited June 18, 2007 by mrmonk7663
