Mya Hoses And Egyptian Stems?

Do those washable Mya hoses fit into a standard Egyptian steel stem?

Should fit. I use a Mya Wide Mouth 6ft hose on one of my Egyptian Stems. It is a little big for the hole, but with a thing egyptian style gasket it works fine all day long, I just push it in hard. Hey VICTIM026, where do you smoke in College Station? I live there, well in Bryan, during the week for work. Any public place you smoke around town?

Well I'm home in San Antonio for the summer, the only place to smoke in CS though is at The Hookah Station down in Northgate. However after going there once I've never gone back. They have an amazing place set up that doubles as a club downstairs but there actual hookahs are completely crap. They were using Mya Acrylics with standard mya bowls with 4 japanese style coals on them and you weren't allowed to touch the hookah under any circumstances and all they did was burn like crazy because they refused to fix the coals the way I wanted them. If your looking to smoke I would highly advise just sticking to smokin at home, it's cheaper and way more enjoyable then a trip to the hookah station.

Also to modify a mya wide to fit a egyptian stem take some sandpaper to the end that plugs into the hookah it'll take a little trial and error to get the outside diameter to the right size but it's worth the time and effort.

Yah, ive never been to the Northgate Hookah Station. I went when it was on Texas Avenue and the smoke was good and it was set up right, and you could jack with the hookah if you wanted to, no one bothered you at all and flavor was great. I had heard that the new place sucked for hookah, thats what a girl in the Earthbound shop at the mall said last week. Maybe i'll go to the local park and chill there one day. Alright, take care.

I could be wrong, but with the right gasket wont any hose fit pretty much any hookah? I've never had any issues with that.

Well, not quite. The Mya Wide Hose is different. The diameter of the wood is so large it barely will fit into an egyptian hose port. When you add on a gasket it is even worse. So like one poster suggested, you can sand down the diameter a bit to adapt it to work great. I personally stretch the hell out of my Egyptian hose gasket, fit it to my Mya Wide hose, and get a good seal. It works for me, but it would work better if i sanded it, I just don't want to mess up the nice finish on my hose :-) So the point is, some hose ends diameters are bigger than others!!! Oh, if you get the chance, check out a Mya hose port and compare it to an Egyptian hose port, the Mya is much much larger.
