DrunkenWizard
I finally got to smoke out of it last night. It was not what I was used to, mainly because of the diffuser. It took me a little work to get the water level just right. I used the bowl it came with instead of my funnel, but it was O.K. It didn't hold a whole lot of shisha so the session was short. It did smoke like a champ. Everything was air tight. The thing is solid. I will compare it to my QT and my 28" Social Smoke egyptian after a few more smokes. Any questions, ask away. symptom CY
Ah ok cool, so you can take the diffuser off. I was thinking it was built into the stem or something. Thanks for the pic
Hannibal
so yay or nay on that diffuser wizard?
DrunkenWizard
Well since it was my first time using it I thought it was kinda weird. I have a feeling that if I don't use it I'm going to suck water through the hose since the downstem isn't very long and the water will be high. Gonna give it another try in a while and I'll give my second thoughts.

AlFakherOnline
Dear readers, Bellow is the description for the diffuser that has come with the Hookahs direct from the factory:"This is the new product of our factory, its aim is to reduce the health hazard of using Narjeela and to protect the health of smokers. Its profits include:1) The filter works through small holes on its surface to divide the smoke, in contact with water, into smaller portions which results in a better wash of the smoke, thus reducing nicotine levels.2) The filter reduces the smoke temperature by dividing large bubbles into smaller ones resulting of larger number of bubbles getting incontact with water.3) The filter prevents smoke condensing in the glass.4) The filter maintains the aroma of tobacco throughout smoking operation, and keeps the smoke white and thick.5) The filter prevents itchy throat, and provides easier inhaling action.6) The filter works on reducing gargling noises within the glass, and provides a stunning view of bubble storm7) The smoke rejuvenates with each inhaling, and stays sparkling white in the glass"I hope this clears up a few of the questions regarding the Al Fakher Hookah for our readers. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any other questions.Thank you, www.AlFakherOnline.comcontact@AlFakherOnline.comQUOTE (pbpredator @ Jun 18 2007, 11:53 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>QUOTE (DrunkenWizard @ Jun 19 2007, 02:18 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Well since it was my first time using it I thought it was kinda weird. DrunkenWizard
OK, so I'm smoking a bowl of Tangiers apricot and peach mix right now. I put less tobacco like Eric said to try. I used some ice water in the base. Funnel bowl. I'm using the hose that the hookah came with, a mya wide I believe. Holy shit this is smoking like a champ!!! Flavor is awesome, nice cool smoke. Huge clouds. I think the main reason for the better smoke is the funnel bowl. If you don't have one you really need to get one. As for the hookah, I highly recommend it. As for the diffuser- two thumbs up.
mrmonk7663
Hey, not exatly on topic but kind of. I have one of those diffuser things on my Egyptian Hookah. The hookah smokes great, super thick clouds with good flavor, regardless of shisha brand. I don't know if the diffuser has anything to do with this at all,but it certainly doesn't seem to be hurting things.
Sonthert
I've seen those diffusers on newer Syrian imports...they're junk. Pull them off and stick it in a drawer. AFOL:What do you have to demonstrate that diffusers do all that? The best available science (which isn't very good) says that a diffuser won't do jack-shit. I'm not sure I completely agree, but what do you have to support that?Edit: That is, what evidence do you have that these pipes are safer to smoke out of? Its certainly opening yourself up for a lawsuit. I don't think it makes it any safer...what chemicals does it particularly remove to make it safer? sebby_0
I'm just guessing here but the diffuser probably works by breaking the smoke up into many smaller bubbles, therefore increasing the surface area. If the water is cold that means it has more smoke to cool. The same with all te other things also, like nicotine reduction.
