Fantastic Hookah Session Last Night...

Recommended Posts

Hey Peeps,
Just wanted to share the awesome hookah experience I had the other night. It was one for the ages. smile.gif

I live right next to a big public park in NYC- Inwood Hill to be exact- 196 acres of the only natural old-growth forrest left in Manhattan. Every summmer, a theater company puts on a Shakespeare In Inwood show for free. This year they are doing Julius Caesar.

So anyway, I went to see the show with my girlfriend and our roomate. We packed a great picnic with fresh strawberries, grapes, wine, turkey, iced coffee, and some AWESOME home-made jalepeno jelly (my girl's mom makes it) with cream cheese and crackers. Also included in our picnic was my hand held hookah!

Needless to say, all the food and drink was great, but let me tell you about the smoke. Before leaving the apartment, I packed a bowl of Starbuzz Lemon Mint that I just got in that day (thanks MN Hookahs), covered it with foil, and brought some 3K quicklights and my lighter. I even brought along a thermos filled with ice and ice water, to fill the base!

As we sat there on a soft fleece blanket, watching some well-performed free Shakespeare and eating some great food, the sun began to set. The lights of the Henry Hudson Bridge glimmered in the background, and some birds began to sing from the forrest around us. I filled the hookah with the ice and water, lit a 3K, and let the magic begin! The Lemon Mint was GREAT- lots of flavor, and huge thick cold clouds. The breeze was even blowing perfectly- carrying my clouds away from the stage and other playgoers! The bowl smoked great for a little longer than an hour on just two coals. I didn't even get too many funny looks from the people around me.

All in all, a near perfect night! This is what hookah is supposed to be about. wink.gif

First of all LOOK i finally figure out the quote thing and i feel stupid about it because im a computer guy but too lazy to look up the bb code to quote.

Sounds like a really nice relaxing session! i would love to be able to go someplace like that but unfortunately, nowhere near here has plays like that outdoors, let alone for free. closest we have would be at the riverwalk in jenks and people here would freak out if they saw some young adults carrying around a water pipe smoking it. being the buckle of the bible belt sucks for reasons like this and of course, shitty beer. congrats on your excelent smoke!

That sounds pretty damn nice. Good times had by all. I wish I could do that around here, but I once had the cops called on me just because I was smoking a cigar. A freakin' CIGAR!

Wow, Nebraska huh? Gotta love the Bible-belt-busy-bodies! Get a life people.

To be totally honest, everytime I use my hand-held in public, I secretly want the cops to come bug me- just so I can pull the "Back-off I know my rights" thing! Either that, or have the cops give the hookah a try after I explain what it is, and watch the pissed off expression on the face of whatever dingle-berry took the time to report me! laugh.gif

To be fair, the cop that showed up (who just happened to be the chief of police) was real nice about it. He said "Yeah, we got a report of someone smokin' weed in a white car. Mind if I ask you what you're smokin there, son?" I said "Um yeah, ok... Just smokin' a Punch Slim Panatella." He said "Oh, Punch! Those are good cigars! Mind If I have a look at your tin just to make sure everything's on the up and up?" I said "No sir..." He then checked out my tin of cigars and told me to have a nice day. I'm not really pissed off at the cops, but I was irate at the dumba**es that confuse a Punch with weed. I'd take the chance smoking my hookah in public but I can envision myself screaming hysterically "ITS ONLY TOBACCO!" while I'm being carried away by the SWAT team. Edited by Big Boss
