EternalSoil
Hello all! im pretty new to the forum, been lurking for over a month and active for about a week and i love it here.I have been looking at getting a new pipe and i have looked at reviews and heard this and that throughout the discussions.Rotator hookahs have not come up that i have seen, orther than scalli's lazy susan conversion. My girlfriend really misses our friends old rotator (his dad got mad at him for something and threw it away) i had never smoked out of it but i hear it was awesome. I think i might purchase one but i dont know where to get it. Hookah-Shisha has a pretty big selection of them all of which look very nice! My girlfriend says that it being a rotator it would only need one hose, which makes sense but i think i want a 2-3 hose pipe, i can always plug the others.I was wondering if anyone has used one and how they felt about it. The bases look sturdy enought to hold them up great but for some reason i think i or my friends would tip it. We dont ever get roudy around the hookahs so drunken stupidness shouldnt play in. It wouldnt matter if it were a rotator or not even it it did play in.I love the traditional style elegant hookahs, but i prefer to own more plain, less flash pipes. Mine is solid black, but i have no problem with silver stems and colored vases like the ones on HS. most rotators are less elegant anyways.Any input is very apreciated! Thanks! tj154906
I'd just like to say, from personal experience, MAKE SURE you want multiple hoses before you go that route. My first hookah was a triple hose, and it smoked OK at best. I "downgraded" to a single hose and I like it soo much better. I think that you'll be happier with a single hose, (and spend much less) especially with a rotator.
mushrat
isn't a multi hose rotator kinda redundant...?I know people have mentioned in the past that the seals around the rotator part can give out. Too many moving parts for me, I stick to the KISS principle, Keep It Simple Stupid, myself. Havin said that I do not own one nor will I ever.. iluvahipokeinhi
personally, i like my rotator. i just bought it from h-s and it smokes great. as always, it is a completely personal preference. i have a 26" 2 hoser. I figured if i ever need the second hose, like for a party or something, then i'll have it. for the most part, i only use 1 hose and i plug up the other hole and it still smokes just fine. i paid 10 more dollars for a 2 hoser. i figured, even though i rarely ever use the other hose, i would use the hose in case the one that i use normally breaks or gets too old. more of an insurance policy than anything else. but as i said, i personally like my rotator. the wide base makes it virtually impossible to tip over, especially if you arent around a rowdy bunch. good luck in your decision. I think that you'll be happier with a single hose, (and spend much less) especially with a rotator.this is true, but like iluvahipokeinhi said, i would probably have it plugged mostly anyways, and for only 10 bucks more, i get an extra hose so it almost makes sense. Price is not a huge issue especially since i was looking on myasaray at there crystal ones. i can't afford to spend that much on a hookah but damn they're nice. i think that having 2-3 hoses on a rotator is kinda redundant but then not also because think about a reg hookah. You have 3 hoses and say 5-6 people. the hoses get all twisted weird and you gotta over under them and make sure u dont tip it and stuff. plus rotators are cool as hell! you have a nice hookah and people think its nice. a rotator and DAMN thats cool as hell! not that i need to make a big impression for my friends but i just like the idea of one. im still looking around and it might be a few months before i decide. just getting some input, and thank you very much for it! ahwahoo2006
I tend to prefer the more simple hookahs. The way I do it is just get single hoses with a long hose, but YMMV.
talksrealfast
So, I have one of the four hose rotator hookahs from hookah-shisha. I'm really not that impressed by it. I have a tiny little single hose hookah and that thing gets used all the time. The rotator hookah is more or less a decoration at this point.Even when I have the other holes plugged, I still can't get it pulling that well. I just feel like it's not very airtight at all. Plus, when you add one or two or three more hoses, it becomes even less airtight, even when people are nice enough to cover their hose with their thumbs. If you're going to go with a rotator hookah, try and find one that has the valve system ball-bearing thing in the hose. That should help the airtight problem that I have. I'm actually with you in that I want a hookah with multiple hose for parties and whatnot, but I might just go with a standard non-rotating hookah in the future. For now, I'll just keep rocking my little one.
Sonthert
Rotators...for the loss. They leak water, seal poorly and wobble too much.Edit: Also, if you break the jar, its a big problem, there's no standard jar thread sizing, so you have to go physically match the threads on the jar (or have it leak worse and seal more poorly)...there are at least 5 different jar threadings...even rotators that look otherwise identical can have different jar threads. Most of the time its easier to throw it away and end up buying a new one. With a standard hookah, just get the right size jar (22, 26, 30...occasionally a 32...I've only seen two 32 jars) and you're set, if you can afford a roll of electrical tape. KillZedKill
I own a 26 red single hosed rotator from H-S. Love it =]
Hannibal
My friend bought a red rotator a few months ago. He brought it to my parties and it does its job with the 4 hoses it sported.I, personally, dislike them. For one I think they are ugly. Ass ugly. Secondly I love one-hosers and will probably only own one-hosed hookahs (maybe a 2 hosed one day). I dont see the point in having 4 hoses, you can't smoke out of each one simultaneously anyway...... This is a huge downer and I don't know what I was thinking when I got mine. You have to take turns. It's like you all have to be in a rythm when you're smoking. It's just easier to have people share one, maybe two hoses.

If not my vote is always on one-hosed.
EternalSoil
Wow, i didn't realize there we so many possible problems with them. thank you very much for your comments. I have gathered that the 1 hose ones tend to do better than others but may still have problems. like i said, i'm not set on getting a rotator, just shopping around. are there any other places other that H-S that sell rotators? nothing against H-S i actually ordered from them a couple of weeks ago. just wondering if one companies are better than another. once again thanks for your input! SmokeMojo
I've never owned a rotater and thought about getting one several times.. But I have read a lot of bad things about them too. Seems like most agree that the traditional hookahs are better? I don't see myself needing a rotater in the first place, plus I could imagine them being harder to clean and maintain.. leadpipecinch21
just my two cents, but if you really want your hookah to rotate, get a traditional one, and just put it on a lazy susan...that way you still get the quality and all the advantages of the traditional hookah, plus the peace of mind and stability of a rotator...what could be better?
