Graffiti

Well, I have been in the graffiti scene for a few years and was wondering if anyone here was also in to it. I'm not starting this thread to get flamed by people who see graffiti as a crime (as I do it legally) or by the same type of people you find on the actually graffiti forums (bashing on anyone that wants to present their art).

So if anyone here is also into graffiti then post up some pictures and I will do the same, I am always down for some feedback/comments.

i did this on a primered board 6 months ago

my bro has a crazy wildstyle, i did all the fx/color in this

That ain't too shabby, big fan of graffiti shame my goverment paints over all the good stuff.

If the goverment paints over it, then it's probably illegal? That's not what the OP was aiming for?
Idiots 'tagging' are a prime example. One kid died not far from you recently i believe?

I have seen some community centres with 'urban art' and it looks....ok. Not my personal cup of tea. But that does not make it bad!

I would ask cafesden what you do with those boards once done though, are they like art kanvas that get displayed somewhere?

I really enjoy graffiti when it's good, particularly stencil graffiti. I don't partake in it myself, but that's only because I have no talent when it comes to that sort of stuff.

Check out his work here. He also has a book that's fantastic and I recommend anyone who's interested in this kind of thing to pick it up.

Not a big fan of people tagging there names, cause thats just pointless and yeah some boy died upon the train track while tagging his name. I'm a big fan of mural graffiti, maybe illegal but to remember someone on a wall is a great way of respecting them. Edited by Jamal

I always thought it would be cool to own a big building or something of the sort with just primered walls and people would come in and pay like 5-10 bucks for a clean wall to spray on.

im not a big fan of the illegal stuff, even though I don't mind looking at it. I got caught and got in a lot of trouble in the past, so only legal stuff for me now.

as far as the boards go, depends on how good they are. my city had a local hip-hop convention thing and I was an artist there competing in a graffiti comp.

heres another one, i gotta get my digi camera back i got plenty of pics on there.

^horrible representation of the art form.

hrm just because he practices on his vehicles because he doesnt want to go spray it all over the town doesnt necessarily mean its horrible... however i agree it isnt the best way he could be doing his work...
