4th Of July

Recommended Posts

I'll be hanging out with my neighbors on our back porch and probably walk to the lake to watch the fireworks. Hopefully my new Vortex will be in by then so I can cellebrate properly!

Argh... I need to see Tool.

Me, I'll be smoking shredded US flag cooked in molasses and BBQ glycerin.

...And the quicklites' red glarrre! Smoke rings bursting in airrr...

Tool will rock your f***ing face off! Saw them about a month ago in Council Bluffs, and damn, I want to see them again! As for my plans, I'll proby get drunk on Makers Mark and end up blowing something up with explosives and/or stumbling around in a drunken stupor while trying to call someone named "Dave" Edited by Big Boss

im going to take a DAY OFF!
have friends over, cook out, drink beer and get 2 or 3 of my hookahs going on my back deck....if it rains someone dies... rolleyes.gif

Sweet, I'll be there. Yeah right, I wish. I'll be at work and in AZ none the less. But on the 1st some buddies and I are going tubing down the Salt River. Too bad you can't take a hookah tubing, that would be fresh!

I will be leaving the midwest to go back home to AZ (first time back in the year since opening my lounge). May sound weird, but for me if there is no hookah involved it may be a nice change of pace. Then again, I will probably smoke anyway... wink.gif Edited by Blue Midnight

I didn't realize that there were so many people from Az on this forum. I don't usually look at the location tags under peoples names.

Anyways, I'm from Az too. What city are you guys in?

I will spend the 4th of July like I did last year. Working in Iraq. I will monitor the computer systems, and do my part to support the finest men and women I have ever worked with. I am not fit to wipe their shoes. When you are celebrating our independence and birth as a nation, please remember the fine soldiers/sailors/airmen/marines who make our freedom and independence possible.

Our troops here in Iraq, will not celebrate this year. There is no alcohol, no fireworks, no day off. They will wear utility uniforms, and 75 pounds of gear in 120 degree heat. There are no bands here, no parades. There is only heat, dust, flies, loneliness.

Our troops here, face death every day, two have been killed on my base in the last month, and one brave young man, could not take it anymore, and blew his own brains out.

I hope that all of you have a good time, and celebrate our God-given freedoms. Our freedom is so unique, that only a power greater than ourselves, could have given them. Freedom rains down on America every day. But the tree of liberty is watered with blood. From Concord and Lexington, to Normandy, and the Chosin Reservoir, right up to Pleiku and Ramadi, our God-given freedoms are protected by young men who are barely shaving.

I urge you to remember these fine men and women. Their sacrifice, makes your freedom possible.

Well spoken and a fine reminder. Thanks. Sometimes we need a little jolt of reality.
