Possible Newb Question

ok, heres the deal: I was smoking my Bubba, and for some strange reason, it felt like there were bubbles coming up the hose. It felt like I was drinking a glass of coke with a straw and it was running low. I dont know if that much is normal, but it just didnt feel right...
The picture isnt the greatest, but you can get an idea of what im working with...

Specs:
Bubba: No specific brand, i bought it at a street shop in Israel.
Hose: Just got a new cobra head one
Shisha: Havana bahrani apple
Coal: El cheapo...i got it with the hookah, doesnt have a brand name in any language I can read, two total, but one at a time
Water: cold water with some ice

Also, my little ball bearing thing and the place it goes into are slightly rusted, is that a problem?

Inhaling too forcefully on a hookah with that size base can bring water up into the hose. Also, if the ball bearing is rusted and stuck so as to not move when air is blown into the hose - that will cause the water to be pushed up when air is blown into the hose.
Did you clean the hose recently, and not let it dry completely?

Hey Tati,

It's hard to tell from the picture itself, but usually the reason you feel water running up the hose is because you poured too much water into the vase.

I think I might have put too much water in the base, cuz I put in enough, and then decided to put in some ice and didnt take any water out...
I didnt think that would happen, I just thought the pull would be harder...
