Twang
After I use my Khalil Egyptian and clean it out. The water that comes out is always green. This doesn't happen with any of my Myas or other hookahs. It is not syrup from the shisha, because it happens even when I use a phunnel bowl. I vaguely remember this topic being brought up in the past, but couldn't find it with the search.
Calcartman
That would be copper-oxide forming inside the stem.
Allia22
Yep, when I don't change my water in between smokes (come on, it's a big hookah!) my water ends up green. Kinda interesting.
Sonthert
Similar stuff builds up in the drain that my soda machine leads to. I had an old KashmirPeach jar that was difficult to clean, after smoking out of 6 months 6+hours a day, it had developed a rubbery greenish black material along the water line. I would postulate that its water-insoluble oils from the flavorings that accumulate. it washes down, gets stuck, all the moisture and solvent evaporate, leaving insoluble, non-volatile material. If it were copper oxide, it wouldn't wash off with a light brushing.
