SmokeMojo
Well I just put my first order for smiley's in and I made sure to get bubbleberry and naughty cow. The naughty cow has got mixed reviews, but the good reviews are usually high and the bad ones mid range. I think it is more a preference of taste. Everything I have read on bubbleberry has sounded good so that's probably a safe bet. I think I got peach, margarita and something else too.. I'll have to look at the order..Overall I think most of what you get from Smiley's will be good, it seems like a delectable shisha. I haven't tried it so I don't know first hand, but those first 2 flavors seem worthy of any stash.I'd check out the product reviews too, there are some detailed reviews for smiley's in there. Calcartman
I cant speak for all the flavors, but im not a fan of smileys after the raspberry and apple i smoked. Virtually no flavor. lots of smoke, but no flavor.

I read somewhere that Smiley recommended to put it in the freezer for a while and then the flavor really kicks up. Not sure if that holds true for all shishas, but it's something to keep in mind if you have a lackluster experience. Once I get mine, I'll write a review. IMHO of course.
SmokeMojo
As long as the container is sealed it will retain its moisture.. But Cal has a point.. if you have to "fix" the tobacco something isn't right. The problems should be tended to by the vendor or creator and not the consumer. I'm sure it is pretty hit or miss with this stuff, but I wouldn't reccomend freezing it.. Put it in a deli drawer in the fridge. The majority of the lounges I've been to keep their shisha somewhat cooler than room temp. They have giant buffet cooler type deals with all the tobacco in individual buckets with lids back behind the counters. I know one of the owners quite well and he's been a shisha enthusiast for a long time.. He says keeping it cool, around 45-50 degrees gives him optimum smoke with all shisha brands. I personally keep my Havana and Al Fakher cool, but starbuzz and juicier brands around room temp. Got way off topic here but its all good.. Idea for a new thread though
cafesaden
his tobacco doesn't need FIXING, I am quite sure that it is possibly your set-up. I have ordered 20 + flavors and every one has lots of flavor. I use a funnel with only the best natural coals (quicklites, with exception of good japanese ones will impart flavor).maybe everyone's expectations got set too high, i think it is a great tobacco, and 3 of his flavors still remain my top 3 tobacco flavors (also my friends as well). peach, horchata, bubbleberry. prickly pear is good, cherry was just o.k.the freezer "trick" is not needed or necessary. it is only a trick that draws the moisture back into the tobacco temporarily (from what ive read). obviously if you put it in the freezer for too long all the moisture would be gone.i used to enjoy that starbuzz - bam - huge flavor. but i can't smoke that on an every day basis, it's tooooo sweeet. smileys is my everyday smoke, but this is IMHO

Are you using a scalli/smiley's mod with your funnel bowl? From what I've read around here, using that can help stir up the flavor since the heat distribution changes. I wonder if the setup is actually the key piece that's keeping people from missing out on a good smoke. Again, this is off topic and if you've got a thorough answer, it's probably a good idea to start a new thread.
Scoop
im pretty sure if people said 0/10 in the reviews that some of the flavors are completely tasteless...think of it this way. the crap i will never smoke, gets at least 7s on here. and i think the taste is crap. if it has any taste what so ever i cant imagine it getting a 0 on here Edited June 21, 2007 by Scoop
SmokeMojo
Well.. Everyone's tastes are different, genetically some people are able to taste certain flavors and ingredients more than other people. Therefore not everyone will like the same shishas.I don't believe there are many Shisha's that deserve a zero.. Bottom line is, they're making shisha that sells, and has a good customer base.. How many of us here are doing that? The only thing I look at when I look at reviews is consistant high reviews or low reviews. I can never look at a review and expect that to be exactly how I will interpret and feel about a product. My advice is pick flavors that YOU would normally enjoy, and venture into flavors you THINK you'd enjoy. If the brand tickles your fancy then maybe you'll check out some other flavors. From tangiers to layalina.I use japanese coals that dont cover up the flavor of any other shisha ive smoked, and yet when i smoked smileys, i get nothing. I get a hint of sweetness and a lot of smoke. In any case, to me, the tobacco was flavorless. Anis Apple and Raspberry both sucked. So i dont buy smileys anymore. Wasn't meaning to single you out I'm sure you can set up a hookah QUOTE Good tobacco doesn't require 'tricks'. It just works.well, I guess thats somewhat true. Even the best golf club requires some "tricks" and adjustments before it works perfect (given skill is already attained)tangiers is great tobacco, but requires some "tricks."smiley's, IMO, is great tobacco, and I've only done the freezer "trick" once.for me, theres good hookah sessions and great hookah sessions. Out of all the smileys tobacco that i've tried, raspberry had the least amount of flavor, and Anis Apple must be one of his least popular flavors because I've never seen/heard of it.Take layalina peach, havana peach, tangiers peach, smileys peach, etc. compare apples to apples. all i can do is suggest a more pop. flavor. I may have worded it wrong, but I was trying to convey the point that, if a company is selling shisha consistantly then there must be someone who likes it. I guess the best way to figure out if you like something for sure, is to try it out yourself.. Though there are some instances it may be better not to.. As Chris Farley would say.."I can get a good look at a T-bone by sticking my head up a bull's ass, but I'd rather take a butcher's word for it"Anywho, I wasn't trying to pat any companies on the back. I was simply trying to say, he should try it out if he feels he may like it. That's really the only way you can know for sure.
