chinamon
ive never heard of anyone being so cheap that they would put out the coal and save it for later. lol.
clickhea
it depends on the coal you are using, some coals can be put out with water and saved for another session.. if you run a search you will find your answer quick.
Big Boss
You cant put them out once they're going. I mean, would you want to reuse your bbq coals more than once?
Luke69
I've heard that its possible with natural coals. But i dont think you can with quicklights. i think your supposed to just put a little water on it, but im not sure.

Twang
Just break up the coal into smaller pieces before you light. Don't light what you don't think you will use...
Guest T0k3r
what about three kings??
leadpipecinch21
well, you might be able to put a 3kings out if you completely starve it of air, but then it'd be hard to light a second time. If you do the same to a natural coal, then take off the ash it should be just like a brand new one...
Brain Damage
With Japanese easy Lites you can suffocate them, and use them again if there was still a good size piece of coal when you stopped. I use an Arizona Tea Bottle to put them out in. I can then grab a small leftover whenever i need a little extra heat.
Calcartman
my time is more valuable than the 10 cents per coal.
Sonthert
I agree with Calcartman, but some people like to be thrifty, it makes them feel better. Some people just hate the feeling that they're wasting something. AZ Coyote puts a lot of charcoal out and relights them. He's a master...
cypherkk
I've put them out by running them under water. but I've never reused them. The large cocaunut charcoals smiley makes, I understand he has put them out under water and reused them.
rbyers
I've put out coals via water... all it does it make them turn into ash. basically it speeds up the process i think... You end up with a black liquid that is very un-tasty. Not that I drank a shot of it on a bet.I didn't.Seriously
cemab4y
I normally do not re-use coals. But I have sometimes had to put out coals quickly. Solution: I took an old bottle of throat spray, and washed it out thoroughly. I filled the bottle with water. Now, if I need to extinguish a coal quickly, I just spray a few mists of water directly on the coal. The coal goes out, and there is no muddy ash to fool with. I keep it handy next to the hookah, in case I spill a coal on the table. Works every time.
ezie
QL can't be use after you put them off. If you want to save on QL just break them into pieces and use only what you need.
SammyDDS
Dude, I wouldnt worry about saving your coal for later, its pretty cheap to buy.
Scheetz
Um, never done it with quick lights.Natural coals you can put out with water. Let dry and you can relight them. I have only done this once as I was curious as to how well it would work. Stupid idea I guess, I knew the outcome before I even tried. Dry coal+ stove top= lit
MAKCuMG
I have done this with 3 kings. A couple of times I'd light the coals, and then for some reason something immediatly popped up and I wasnt going to smoke for another 30 min or something. Solution: I just starved them of air. Once you do this though, its not going to spark right back up like the first time you lit it. LOL. the gunpowder (or whatever) is gone.Put them on a stove and light back up like regular coal.
