MechAnt
So my Bernzomatic torch works like a dream for lighting up my Japanese Easy Lites and naturals but instead of lugging the thing around, I'm searching for a replacement torch. After some initial research I've found a couple that look good but I'm not sure if they're up for the job of starting Easy Lites. This one that really caught my eye is from Nibo. Seems like a reputable company.Thoughts? Suggestions? Edited June 24, 2007 by MechAnt
Twang
That seams good for quick lights. But, it seems like it would have to be constantly refilled, and the flame wont be as hot as the Bernz. And it might get too hot to hold the button down after a while. That's my guess anyways...
mrmonk7663
This is the lighter I use. It is made by Colibri. I have had it for 4 years and it still goes strong. It burns incredibly hot, never burns my finger, and is a nice piece. Here is a picture. I have a link also if you need it PM me for it. Hope this helps.Michael Edited June 24, 2007 by mrmonk7663
smidge
mechant, ive had one of those torches before, (not same brand) but it had 3 flames, and it could easily burn through a piece of thin metal, (thicker than a soda can though way thicker). It annhilated a soda can in about 15-20 seconds.Very good lighters for what your going to pay for it! And it fits in your pocket!

Suggestions? You might wanna take a look at Hookahhub.com they have torches with a 45 degree angle so its perfect for lighting coals. also its good because most likely you arent going to burn yourself with it and its not gonna get hot... i think one is like 10 bux and the other is 11 and it comes with some tools on it... give it a look pretty sure they are the same size as these guys maybe a little bigger.. insidius
I got a little torch on ebay for $5.99 that came with 2 tanks of butane, as well. It burns to 1500 degrees and does well at lighting my natural diamante finger coals, so I can't imagine it having a problem lighting quick light coals. MechAnt
Thanks for all your help and suggestions. I guess I'll pull the trigger on my torch purchase. Still need to decide between the Nibo one i posted earlier or the one at hookahHub
MechAnt
Ok so i just bought a Regal torch lighter at a local cig shop. I wanted to invest in a nice one so i set a budget of $20.This thing is AMAZING. It's a three flame butane torch that easily fits in the hand. Lit Japanese Easy Lite coals in literally 4 seconds flat. That is one side. Just do this to each side and its completely lit. Gets a bit warm after each 4 second burst but just blowing on it for a second or two cools it down sufficiently. I'd highly recommend a butane torch lighter (sometimes referred to as cigar or windproof lighters) to anyone that loves their Japanese silver coals or just wants a quicklite to light a little bit faster.[attachment=393:lighter1.jpg][attachment=394:lighter2.jpg] Edited June 24, 2007 by MechAnt
talksrealfast
I have a couple of these, and they work great with my quicklites. I got this one originally and the three flames do light it up faster, but the lid only opening like that made my fingers get a little on the hot side after about 5 seconds. I wanted something that fit in my pocket better, so I grabbed this one. It doesn't light the coals as quickly, but it's only lagging by a couple of seconds, and it doesn't burn my fingers at all. They do require refilling after a dozen or so uses (depending on the lighter and how high the flame is set to), but the butane bottles to refill them are dirt cheap and it's nice to have a little pocket lighter instead of a big camping torch.
