Scallis Mod With Medium Funnel

If this is in the wrong section please feel free to move it. Anyway, I have seen alot of posts here lately about the Scallis Mod and Funnel Bowl. I got one in the other day, and set it up this weekend and tested it out. I used Al Fakher Grape as my test subject. I packed the bowl loose, but with a descent amount of tobacco. I used two coals on the medium bowl, one across from each other. The results were nice thick smoke clouds. These clouds were comparable to my Hookah Hookah Vanilla with Glycerine added in a regular bowl. So the clouds were great. The next thing to note was the flavor. The flavor was fantastic. The great thing was the flavor didn't come on strong at first and then change to just smoke later, every inhalation was full of the flavor. Never did it burn, or get harsh. I attribute the no burn deal to this. The Scallis mod makes the center of the bowl higher than the rim of the bowl. So when you put the foil on top, then the coal, the coal rests on the rim and on the edge of the mod, never coming into direct contact with the foil below. This keeps the heat regulated, and keeps the tobacco from sticking.
Other things to note. I used standard aluminum foil. I also had a lot of ice in the base, for a cleaner thicker smoke. Finally, the coals used were Starlight, instant light variety (my favorite as far as instant lights go.) I hope this helps someone. If anymore information is needed let me know. Smoking with a phunnel/mod combo is about as straightforward as hookah gets.
