SmokeMojo
Interesting, I generally find that my MYA hoses get amazing flavor. My Mya Cloisonne is brilliant, I don't know if I'd trade it for any other hose. Now hoses with a plastic or acrylic handle may have less of a "woody" taste since they do not have wood handles, but I've always found that MYA's hit like champs in all aspects from flavor to clouds. Its expensive, but, wash it all you want, it will never ever rust....and doesnt absorb flavor either. They say its some garden hose type stuff inthere....I think its too precious to cut up and look.Do you wash your Cloisonne? How long have you been washing it for, and is it OK? SmokeMojo
I have two Cloisonnes.. One I just recently purchased with my new vortex, and I've had the other a few months or so. The other one has shown no signs of rust. I always remove the ends of the cloisonne while washing and I just use my narrow brush to clean the ends out with some warm water. When I wash the hose itself I just put some warm water through maybe with a bit of lemon juice after a heavy session of flavorful shisha. As I'm rinsing I'll fill the hose up with a bit of water and then blow through to create some pressure to loosen up the buildup. After I rinse them out, I blow through the hose as hard as I can again (this time without water inside) then Hang the hose up on a peg from the center so both ends can hang down and air dry/drip overnight. It allows your hoses to dry pretty well and there is no sitting water or drips lingering inside. I believe that the rust on the MYA's come from the metal tips on them as the inner core is a tube of plastic with a metal coil inside of that. I don't think water can really get to the metal coils unless there is a tear in the hose somewhere. Now I don't work for MYA so I'm not Positive if this is true for all hoses, but I have cut/accidently ruined a few of their hoses and then examined the inside to find that the coils seemed pretty water proofed. Sometimes particles of tobacco and tiny bits of coal can end up in the hose. This may appear rust like to you, but often a few good blows through the hose with warm water in it will blow this debris out.
MAKCuMG
So the inside is metal coil covered in plastic huh? guess thats pretty rust proof....Can anyone from MYA confirm or elaborate?

clickhea
i wonder why the flavor is so limited with the mya hose :[
cypherkk
I won't smoeke from a hose with a metal tip, where you inhale from, that seems to make the flavor weaker
clickhea
maybe the metal tip has somthing to do with it, cause the cheap-o hose is plastic and i get all the flavor from iti just light up a bowl of white grape, and i put the cheap hose and the mya hose in, and took hits from both, and i swear i dont taste much from the mya, but alot from the other Edited June 27, 2007 by clickhea
oggie505#2
I have no problems with my mya hoses, its all i have now. Yours could be dirty??? Only reason i stick with mys is the washable factor, but i plan on making a plastic hose too in the future
MAKCuMG
Smoked last night with the Closonnie hose, smokes fine, but when i took of the handle, there was alot mmore smoke/ flavor....weird...i wasnt using the funnel so flavor was constantly on and off...maybe that contributed.......Still think the Nammor hose is the best in terms of flavor and smoke density. It is SO wide.

glz88
I'd spent 24 on a nammor considering the large hoses i have i get better flavor but they aren't coated inside so they are probably going to rust
MAKCuMG
Umm...they say its some sort of garden hose material inside....and the ends are plastic....i dont think there is anything to rust on that hose....i hope we are talking about the same hose though

Sonthert
Metal cased hoses (metal running through the head piece and/or as a tip) do get dirty and nasty. In a nicotinated tobacco, the flavor will be very bitter, numbing and metallic, yet the flavor of the tobacco will be muffled or indistinct. Maybe that's what's happening here. If the hose is washable, get a fine brush and clean out the inside of the metal casing. It you are fortunate enough to have detachable headpieces, you can remove that and clean it separately.
