Ever major concert that I've been to, I've seen drug use. Went to see Celtic Frost and Type O Negative (the first being black metal and the second being gothic metal) and this guy standing next to me light up a 'hand rolled cigarette' and said "Is this the Phish concert?" It was really bad when I went to go see Tool, though. A majority of the people around me missed out on the best part of the show because they were slumped over in their seats. IMO, the Celtic Frost kids were utterly nuts. But Type O Negative? Let's be serious here. Peter Steele said, and I quote "Do you all REALLY believe I'm not on drugs right now?". The guy drank a whole bottle of Sutter Home on stage. All serious though, I didn't see any drug use at the Type O concert, although I did smell pot at some point. AND I've been to 5 Tool concerts(I have a picture from front row to prove it!), and yes, there were people doing drugs there. But I swear, the most drugs I've ever seen done at a concert? Guns and Roses at the Garden in November. That being a small aside because Boss mentioned some amazing bands that I love, I'm sure there will be some drug use at Burning Man. But personally, the closest I've ever come to drug use is taking a ritalin and it didn't even have anything to do with getting 'high'. It's not a drug use thing at Burning Man. It's really about art. Yea, some artist/hippie types do drugs, but *shrug*. That's not why I want to go.
blacklabelqlewis
me neither. i attend outdoor music/art festivals a couple times each summer, and we always laugh at the "e-tards" and whoever else looks like they are a bit out there. but the coolest people you meet are usually the sober ones. some people dont seem to see this and the people there for the wong resons ruin it for us all. SmokeMojo
I just got back from Bonnaroo.. It was a blast.. It's the biggest music festival near Ohio. Bigger than lollapalooza, and I'm going to that too. Tool played at bonnaroo right after a shipment of mushrooms came in.. They were so incredibly loud and bassy.. I've never seen so many people puking and crying in my entire life.. I was lucky enough to be within 15 or 20 rows.. And there were 80,000 people there. Music Festivals rock, I plan on attending burning man in the next few years.. I just can't make it this year.I actually brought a few hookahs along with some of my midrange tobacco and rented them out to be smoked in my tent.. I made enough to pay for anything I really needed down there..Idea for you guys

kornkitten42
HOLY COW! I agree about the whole seeing tool thing. I had never seen or smelled so much of that crap! I swear, I was mad as hell. I understand why people do it, but we're in an enclosed building, be thoughtful of the people around you that DONT want to be around that crap. If there is no smoking allowed in the building, WHY would you light that? I also had a cop sitting at the top of my section, and he just sat there and watched and didn't do anything !! My whole section was lit, and I ended up getting sick as a dog, because I'm either allergic to it, or it or what.As for type o-.... I love that band, i'd love to seem them. Of course Peter Steele is back on the white, no i dont really know, but I hope he's not. That dude is HUGE, i'm sure he can kill more than one bottle of cheap wino wine....... lol... Wish i could see them live.

I told people "I have to go to Baltimore to see them, because it wouldn't surprise me if Peter Steele just falls over dead". I've been a fan of Type O ever since I heard Blood & Fire on the Mortal Kombat soundtrack. October Rust is easily one of the greatest albums of all time. Well, here's to hoping he has a long life, or at the least that he doesn't have to go back to Riker's Island
