I Caved Into The Trend/fad

Havent made the purchase yet...but im about to...i caved into all the talk about this phunnel bowl...and i love a buzz so decided to try some tangiers...Order includes:


-Tangiers small phunnel bowl
-MNH Glass Scallis Phunnel Bowl Mod (I am assuming this fits the small as thats what website says)
-Layalina 250g Mint (for mixing)
-Layalina 250g Raspberry
-Tangiers 250g Kashmir Peach
-Tangiers 250g F-Line Apple
-MyaSaray 72" Wooden Head/Ring Cut Leather Hose (its washable and i think i gunked up my hoses so im gonna buy one and see if thats the problem...if it is i'll probably get 3 more for my 4hose hookah)


any suggestions/regards?? im thinking about getting another tub of some shisha since im already paying for shipping...any ideas? i wish MNH had some al-fakher...thinking about havana mango maybe...

Didn't you say in a previous thread you were new to smoking? If so, I would advise to buy much smaller amounts of shisha at a time - you don't know what you like yet and will just waste a bunch of money. 50g containers are great and you waste less.

I agree with the above.. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised at what 250g of Tangiers looks like (or most other brands for that matter, you just have a lot more fluff with tangiers). I was surprised myself, and I've been smoking for quite awhile. Also Tangiers is a lot different than smoking other shisha, it requires a few tips and tricks that may be hard for newer smokers to grasp right away. Without experiencing a plethora of other brands first, I wouldn't suggest buying QUITE that much Tangiers unless you've done a lot of homework.

The phunnel is no fad either.. This bowl seriously brings your experience to a whole new level and I think you'll see this around for a long time. I'd suggest this piece in any hookah collection. Keep in mind you don't need the scalli mod when smoking Tangiers, since the bowl was MADE to smoke Tangiers brand.

Wooo! Someone agrees with me! Seriously, though, I'm just speaking from experience here. I bought way too much shisha the first time and it just went to waste, either because I ended up not liking the flavor or it got dried out. You have a full kilo of shisha on your list there, which is more than I smoke in a month.

the nicotine amount in tangiers is a lot higher (unwashed), so be aware of that. i dont smoke anything but washed tobacco, so when i smoked tangiers it was a little too much for me. i try to take it slowly, even now a half a medium phunnel bowl puts me over the edge.

yeah I also agree with the above about that being a lil to much shisha for a newer smoker, I speak from experience as I am a newer smoker , if you want variety try looking at some 50 variety packs. Good way to learn what you like

yea...i thought of the same thing...but there are no smaller packs of tangiers (except at hookahkings and they dont have the mod OR a small phunnel)...there really are no 50g packs of anything hardly at MNH (they actually have tangiers but u dont get to pick flavors)...hookah company has the same things with more shisha selection but as far as the mod goes...on hookah company it has smiley mod (which i am getting for other brands) and says "designed for medium"...dont really want a medium one...want the small...was afraid it wasnt gonna fit...looked around the forum for awhile to see if it would...never found a definitive answer...will it fit??

i got a 250g of layalina before...i wasnt really ALL that surprised...i was getting enough to last till the end of the summer...it doesnt dry out in like 2 months does it??

i think i will downgrade the 250g of layalina to something else...that is alot...especially the mint...but i dont really know what to do about the tangiers...i wanna try it... Edited June 29, 2007 by Ehagen8008

The only thing that I would downgrade would be the 250g of Layalina mint. But that's really because I don't mix that much and that's basically what mint is for (unless you are one hard core mint lover). I know exactly what you are talking about with the avalability of what you want at the same store. If you were to downgrade to 50g boxes at another site and only buy the bowl and mod at MNH then you would STILL be spending about the same due to the fact that you now have two shipping charges that generally have a pretty large minimum price tag.

That's OK, at the risk of being disingenuous, the automobile was considered a fad...perhaps it is, but its a fad that outlived everybody that was around when it was invented. Might outlive us, too.

ok...i took a couple suggestions and placed my order and ended up getting:

-small tangiers phunnel bowl
-glass mod for phunnel
-250g Tangiers Raspberry (decided against kashmir peach after reading reviews...wasnt 100% sure i would like it so i went with something safer)
-250g Tangiers F-line Apple
-50g Havana Mint (they were out of it...i tried to switch it around so i would get layalina mint...which they were out of...so MNH was nice enough to just upgrade me to the 250g tub free of charge!!!!)
-150g Smiley's Margarita (just wanted to try something a little different than fruits/berries)

i still feel i ended up with quite a bit of shisha...(900g) but they are all pretty safe flavors that i know i will like...i got enough mint mixer to last me a long time and i figured it wouldnt be all that different if they were sitting in my house rather than in some store...the only way this would be a terrible purchase is if the shisha gets dry (which i dont think it does in 2-3 months does it?)

Yeah, someone told me a couple of days ago that if you want "to be taken care of"...Tangiers WILL do it and it did!...Man, as a newbie hookateer...I found this stuff quite buzz-worthy...for me anyway.

yea...thats what a couple of my friends are looking for...for me i am indifferent...i like strong and weak shisha...but im sure they will enjoy it...wanna try the F-line though...cant wait for that...
