Recommended Posts

know it wasnt on your list BUT the pharoah two hoser was my first (they have 1 and 3 hose options as well) and I didnt have ANY problem with setup smoke quality etc, and yeah hookah-shisha.com is one of the best place IMHO to get your first hookah cause they give you all kind of free goodies biggrin.gif

I hope this is OK with you, Bryantos, I don't want to start a new thread when there's already one like it happening tongue.gif

I was wondering if anyone can tell me anything about the Fata Morgana Hookah.
It looks like this

It'll be my first, so I don't want something expensive right off, but I don't want an absolute piece of trash, either.
secondly, Nakhla Shisha: good, bad, or goblin?

thanks for your time! smile.gif

edit: spelling, and to say I'm in Germany right now, so I can't really order from the sites you guys recommend sad.gif Edited by seraph1m

Dont get ANY MOD hookah unless it is the stratus/stargate, because the rest arent very good. If I were you, I would get something with "autoseal" and maybe a mya. I buy all of my hookahs from hookah-shisha and taqseem. Go to live chat or call them. And ask for Kyle or Scott, and ask them what they recommend, because they have good taste in hookahs. DONT get a rotator, it will let you down! If you want get the QT but it is not a good started hookah. I dont suggest anything over 3 hoses.

Hey, I have had experiences with the Ivory and the QT.

But Overall for a first hookah I would recommend to you a Mya Acrylic. Just a little bit bigger than the Ivory, but smokes a lot better in my opinion. its my favorite hookah. It's Simple and it works. There any NO negatives to it whats so ever, its easy to clean, lots of color choices, and the base is sturdy and acrylic.
Just make sure to get the mya wide hose with it its a BEAST and
if you want, 2 stem adapters, and you have yourself a fine 1 hose hookah, or 2 hoses if you wanna share.

I like the look of the Ivory. However, I have to agree that for a first hookah I think the acrylic is the way to go. Especially if you are going to have it in social settings where there's alcohol, its really hard to knock over, and even if you do the base is made of acrylic. If you go against the acrylic. I'd go Ivory or QT. Ivory looks nice, QT is a standby.

Bryantos:

Out of the three you recommended, I would have to say that I can't recommend any of the ones you picked out. Don't lose heart, though! They are very aesthetically sppealing to me.

I would stay away from the QT for the aforementioned reasons. There is no way to clear the stale smoke out of the vase. You can remedy this by taking very weak puffs and clearing the vase of the remaining smoke, but it isn't nearly as easy and blowing INTO the hose such as you would do on a traditional egyptian pipe to clear the smoke. Most of the new Mya QT hookahs are coming out with very inferior glass. I have purchased several of them for friends and family (7 over all) and one for myself. The one I purchased for myself almost a year ago has very thick glass. My roommate has a QT that I bought from him about 8 months ago has thinner glass. The one I bought a few months ago has VERY thin glass and feels about three times lighter than my QT hookah. I don't know how to gauge thickness with glass, but by eyeballing it you can see a noticable difference. The QT can be converted into a two house hookah with a 3-7 dollar adapter making it an autoseal. I think this is a pretty cool feature. It pulls VERY well for such a small hookah. Several people are not pleased with the stem of the QT because the inside is very porous metal and must be soaked in a larger bowl or pan to be cleaned. A simple brush will not clear the stem of ghosting flavours. I am not saying do not get a QT ever, but just recommending against getting one as a first hookah.

I would stay away from all rotators because they have never felt completely sturdy to me. They are notorious for leaking and if you break the vase, it will be very hard to find a replacement.

The Ivory tower hookah looks like a cheap chinese hookah. I would not order it because it appears to be about 35 dollars more in cost than what it is worth. It comes with a cheap case and a hose I would replace immediately.

If you are dead-set on using Hookah-Shisha as a retailer, let me know and I'll look around for a pipe that I would recommend on it. If not, I'll can recommend some other pipes from some other retailers as well. Sonthert recommended the Glyph hookah on Hookah-Shisha because of its studiness and brass core. Hookahs are made like this less and less because of cost. The hookah is 100 bucks, but will probably outlive you if you take care of it.

Pax!
