Torn With Conflict

Recommended Posts

Okay, so it may not seem like a really big deal, but i'm torn over this decision.  I have a mya qt with smoke/black base, it was my first hookah i ever purchased, and i am quite attatched to it.  as of late, i made the mistake of lending my qt to my brother, who has recently become very interested in hookahing, however, he really doesnt know the proper care that hookahs deserve, hes also a retard. he lost all the grommets already, and has really failed to be cleaning it, although i assume that it can ben thoroughly fixed with an SoS pad and some elbow grease.  it would take quite a bit of work to restore its original state, however.

so here's my conflict. do I take the effort to fix something my brother royally f*ed up, andm ake him pay for missing parts, or do I just make him pay in full and replace it?

Well, if he didn't clean it, i think you'd spend probably half an hour cleaning it, but i wouldn't give up my QT for anything.
Make him buy a new grommet set and a tub of tobacco for the trouble you're gonna have cleaning it.
Then soak the hookah in a sink full of hot water and baking soda and scrub it.
The nice thing about the QT is how easy it is to clean.

Kill him. Use something heavy and jagged...painful.

Could always use the mya stem. Those things are pretty damn thick/solid. But then you have to go through the trouble of cleaning the blood and chunks of skull off your stem after. So I guess it's really a toss up. I'd say follow your heart, it will never lead you wrong.

He's your brother, I'm sure you can work something out with him. I'd keep the old one, but that's just me - You know how it smokes and how to set it up plus there's the sentimental value.

Naw, I disagree...get a new brother...sentiments be damned!

Well i got a situation similar to yours, i bought my first hookah over a year ago, it was a little pumpkin style hookah, so one night i am outside smoking with some friends at college and after we are done one of my friends asks if he can borrow the hookah and smoke a little longer, i said sure and went off to bed, at 4 am i get a knock on my door and he hands me a handful of broken glass, the stem, and an empty case (no bowl, tongs, shisha, coals, etc....)

For a second i was pissed but then i just said i'll deal with it tomorrow and go back to bed.

So the next day he calls me and asks me if i want to smoke, i jokingly said "Sure, but my hookah is broken", and he asked how it happened lol, apparently he decided to down a bottle of robotesent and try to smoke in a tree (had to talk to a bunch of people who saw him that night for the entire story to unfold)

To end the story he replaced my hookah, b/c sometime hookahs are just to far destroyed to be saved, the stem from an old hookah has not sentimental value anymore lol, if thats all that remains Edited by chrisrbts

I say you make him replace the missing parts. When you get those back clean the hookah up good and take it back. I just got back from a great session with my brother, so its hard for me to tell you to make him replace the whole thing.

I'll send you new gaskets if you solemnly promise not to kill your brother...should I call you Cain?

Then you can have Mr. Dirty Jeans clean it himself...or kill him then. All's well...right?
