curlyhairedcutie
Me and two of my friends are driving cross country this summer. Since we are all avid hookah lovers, we were thinking of buying a small hookah for the road trip. Any suggestions for a good small hookah for this purpose? Also, any suggestions/experience with traveling hookahs? Especially looking for ideas to keep the coal contained and the hookah in place in the car. Thanks! anathema
mya qt will save the day?you can probably just make a barrier around the bowl that would keep the coals from sliding/rolling off of the bowl.edit: aluminum foil barrier Edited July 2, 2007 by anathema

SmokeMojo
Look into building your own or find a mini hookah like these:[attachment=414:0025_hh.jpg]That one is around 8 inches tall and you can find it at a couple websites.. I got mine from Fumari. They're handheld, burn a long time.. and produce a lot of smoke.I've carried mine around at parties.. and if I know I have a long drive ahead of me I always have it ready to go

jaker29902
get a combo lid/bowl thing almost everyone sells em, think nazar is cheapest, and the mini wind cover can be latched down, that way no falling coals and you can attack to any hookah you life
Hobocans
The HoboHookah that I sell would be great for this. You just need to get one of the bowls with lid covers (mentioned previously) and then maybe a bottle that has the same diameter as your cup holder (1L coke bottle would probably work best). You could also build a "crown" (which is mentioned as well) or aluminum foil barrier. We use this method most of the time, and works well in 90% of the cases (total catastrophic hookah flipage outstanding). Just follow the link in the signature. When is the road trip? HoboHookah doesnt ship until August 3rd, which may be a problem for you.
ahwahoo2006
I would second the mya QT idea. Also, get a windscreen to keep the coals from flying out.

tingjunkie
I used to live in Santa Fe for 3 years. I miss it soooo much! You have to go to a place called Ten Thousand Waves. It's a Japanese spa in the mountains overlooking Santa Fe (about a 15 minute drive outside the main part of town). I can not possibly stress how cool this place is! For $19, you get UNLIMITED use of the communal hot tub, sauna, and cold plunge, plus they also hook you up with a kimono and sandals while you are there as well as free tea, and all the nice shampoo and conditioner you can use. The place is incredibly beautiful and authentic. Except for the lack of Japanese people, you really feel like you are in Japan while you are there. Best $19 you will ever spend in your life. I promise. Go at night and chill under a bright blanket of stars. Trust me, don't miss out, just go.Have a great trip!
