Hookah And Shisha In New York

I'm travelling to new york city and was just wondering if you guys new some places to go. Preferably to buy a nice hookah and shisha and ofcourse some good hookah bars. I really want a nice mya and some starbuzz. Anyone know anygood places?

As far as Hookah Bars in NYC, you should do a search of the forum. Been covered many times. Personally, I would recommend the Habibi Lounge- Good set-up, good atmosphere, good prices, and good people.

You probably don't want to buy a pipe here though... unless of course you actually enjoy paying WAY too much to someone who won't give you ANY customer service.

Not saying that it's impossible to find good deals on hookahs here... but I haven't found the shop yet. Edited July 3, 2007 by tingjunkie

I was just at Horus' on Avenue A, and if you want like a full meal deal, Id check that place out. Really good food, and the hookah guys know what their doing.

The problem with NYC is that about half of the hookah bars have shuttered. You use to be able to get a bowl for $7 down at Luxors on McDougal St, but now they charge like $15, with a minimum and all of these other asinine rules.

Really, if you want an experience though, the best way to smoke shisha in NYC is Steinway in Astoria, Queens. I know its Queens, and that freightens a lot of people, but its really a great place and Steinway is probably the closest thing you'll get to being in Cairo. The only problem is that they don't sell beer, but the shisha is dirt cheap (like $5) and the food is really awesome.

Middle Eastern Nights or the Egyptian Cafe (i think) are the big joints on Steinway.
