Im in the market for a new bowl. Which bowl would you guys prefer, the Tangiers medium funnel bowl with smileys funnel mod or a Smileys Ultimate clear hooka head? ( im not too excited about the tangiers MEDIUM funnel bowl because of how much tobacco it requires but its the only size that allows you to use the funnel mod)

imo that smiley's bowl looks like its for something other than smoking hookah... id go with the tangiers medium funnel

I use the scalli mod with my small funnel it works

It diverts the air flow to underneath the shisha instead of letting the air flow over the shisha. Here is a quick example.

Looks like the funnel bowl with the mod it is. Whats the best way to setup the holes on the foil?

I have both and i like the phunnel and the phunnel mod better only becuase with the glass mod sometimes a little peice of coal will break off and fall into the shisha and it will start to burn it and it about kills me everytime it happens

so which one is the one that drops the coal into the shisha from time to time? The link that i gave or the link you gave?

I honestly don't know. Someone else mentioned the coal breaking off and falling into the shisha. I can't imagine that happening unless he is using one of Smileys glass screens, but I don't know for sure. You'd have to ask him.

Pay attention to the vid. See how he has two concentric rings of punched holes in the foil towards near the outside edge? Thats how I set mine up. Do some digging with the search tool and see if you can find more stuff. Edited July 4, 2007 by Big Boss

thanks, that video helped alot! Now i just have to find one to show me how to make the holes in the foil lol

He is talking about smiley's glass screen for his glass bowls. The holes in the screen are rather large, when the coal starts to get small it can fall down into the hole and burn the shisha causing massive harshness.

I have never tried the Smiley mod, but I have 2 glass scalli mods from MN and love them. Get a med size phunnel, the mod takes up room, and it will smoke good weither it is filled or you just put a little bit of shisha in it. The only tobbacco that I do nto use with my phunnel is nakhla, because I find it smoke better in a normal bowl since it is so dry. Basically if the tobbacco is dripping wet, then the phunnel will be good for it. I plan on gettin the new tangiers V head or whatever it is called and see how it works for not tangiers tobbacco

It looks like it has come down to this.

1.My girlfriend is going to buy me the Al Fakher hookah (26") for my b-day. ( i really canNOT wait to get it. reading all the reviews, sounds and looks like an awesome hookah)
2. I will be ordering the Tangiers Medium Funnel bowl for my new Al Fakher hookah with the Scalli mod from MN hookah.

And from my understanding, as long as the tobacco is pretty damn wet {which al fakher and layalina usually are(only brands i usually smoke)}, the funnel bowl will work out just fine and will improve my overall smoking quality and taste.

Does that sound about right?
