deltr
Supposedly it replaces coals, anyone have any idea if this is good?http://www.hookahwholesalers.com/hookah_charcoal.htm
Big Boss
On the old hookah forum I was on people said that it was difficult to dial the correct setting in, and that for the first couple of tries they burned their shisha, but once they got it dialed it in worked well. I have no personal experience with it, though.
frankenstein_666
I have actually been looking for a coal alternative and the next best thing that I think is good....would be Kamodo Coals?...they are supposidly coconut shell coal?..I read somewhere that it does not give off carbon monoxide and a lot of the other bad stuff?..anyone know anything or know where to get this coal!?...also, if this is correct in saying that it does not contain the same contaminents as regular coal? cemab4y
I lived in Saudi Arabia in 1991. My next -door neighbor utilized an electronic device very similar to this one. He fiddled with it, and I think he was able to make it work. I left Saudi without buying one.
Johnny_D
Is it that time of year again? The many many discussions on this have concluded that it probably wouldn't work very well.Heat control could be difficult.Strapping it to your hookah could be a problem.Having wires running all over the shop is probably not ideal either. And of course the age old arguement - it's modern new fangled technology!JD
Sonthert
1. A simple electric device wouldn't work too well...the heat needs of a hookah bowl are not constant...they go up throughout the smoking process. A controlled device would have trouble bouncing too far, back and forth, burning, not smoking. Thats just a professional opinion. 2. Charcoal is eminently easier...grab your tongs and move the coal. Lets not be too lazy here. Sure, the carbon monoxide is a factor, but I would guess there are enough hazards from smoking to not worry about it. 3. Anybody who told you there is a charcoal that doesn't produce carbon monoxide is a liar. I could be convinced otherwise, but it better be a pretty good science lab. Every time a bunch of carbon (charcoal) is burned, some carbon monoxide is produced...thats how it burns. Hopefully it burns almost completely into carbon dioxide, but the reaction trails off as the gas concentration goes down, so a little carbon monoxide always must get out...it is a gas, after all. deltr
yeah, I actually considered producing my own device that would run from a battery. I decided to stick with coals since creating my own, while being very entertaining, would not be very practical.
Ocrap
I tried that thing a long time ago. It added a toaster flavor to shisha, lol. It also tipped the hookah over several times from the weight of the handle. It's a horrible investment.
