Hey Sonthert

Quick question about this Super Chief Bowl. While packing, do you recommend tobacco in the whole thing, or ring it like the funnel?

In my opinion I would put tobacco in the whole thing
as it does not have that centre hole like the funnel bowl.....

It has holes all over....

That defeats the purpose.
It has a channel in the side, a la the funnel bowl, which is where you put the tobacco. The more holes are to allow more airflow.

Unfortunately I can't grasp this concept.  I would think if you don't put tobacco between the air vents and the coal(s), then you'd just be sucking in coal-heated air.  Can someone help explain how this works?

if the holes are only in the tobacco part of the foil, it would work fine, id think.

Well, remember the coals do not heat the tobbacco, it is supposed to heat the bowl which inturns heats the tobbacco, thats how the cheif will work

Well, actually it does heat the tobacco, but the warmth of the bowl is integral to the proper smoking.

Place the non-Tangiers tobacco around the channel, don't put tobacco above the holes or on the bowl's table (the flat part at the bottom) . If you use the bowl to smoke Tangiers, just fill the bowl up with Tangiers, just like normal.
