More ?'s From A Newbie.

Recommended Posts

Hello to everyone, I'm new to this forum and can see that this is the place to be for all things hookah.
I had a couple quick ?'s...i've searched the forums and either have not found an anwer or am still undecided.
Hoping to get some help and feedback from everyone.

1. How do we measure our hookahs? From vase base to top of bowl or ?...i'm confused. blink.gif
I picked up a fairly tall yellow vase/yellow bowl piece and woud like to find out.

2. Yet another coal question...sorry everyone. sad.gif
There are two types of "Japanese" correct... Easy Lite (actually from China by Rolland) & Golden (Japan) ?

3. Brandwise, is King Moassel a new company?
I don't see the 50 gram mini-boxes offered anywhere online.
Inferior or...???

Thanks everyone, I look forward to your answers and to posting my reviews once I get my piece up and bubbling.

Welcome to the forum!

1. No idea. I take it as it comes. I'd think without the bowl on because bowls come in such varying heights.

2. Yep, you've got the right idea. There's another Japanese one called Magic Coals.

3. No personal experience, but someone recently said that King moassel sucked.

Sorry, that's all I've got tongue.gif

1. From the bottom of the base to the top of the stem without grommet, is generally how they're measured. The bowl is not included in the height (or should not be, what is actually done may be different).
2. Yep, you got it right
3. King is not a very good shisha from my experience.

1. Bottom of vase to the top w/out bowl (just reiterating CalCartman) =)

2. Yep, and as previously mentioned, Magic Coals are also from Japan

3. King is not that great. They have unique flavors and is fairly smooth but they never seemed to satisfy me. The taste is not strong at all, or not accurate at all. Quality is inconsistent too. Don't bother, there are way better companies for shisha. Their hookahs are decent aluminum tho. I own one and I'm pretty satisfied with it.

1) I'm sorry I can't answer this question, since it will have something to do with behind the balls.... It's not the size of your hookah its the motion of the ocean!

Anyway!

*cackles gleefully* If you don't have a big hookah then you DAMN well better have some kickass shisha in it! Ya know, in my completely honest opinion wink.gif

Thanks again group for all the help and greetings.

update:
1. I haven't measured yet but am guessing its 21" yellowish gold vase/yellow bowl with brown and gold hoses.
Tight as a drum, no leaks, bit of a metal taste from hoses though.
I'm working on pics wink.gif

2. Couldn't find the Golden Canaries in town, settled with 'SZNEZ/Pro Mekawi' instant lights just to get it bubbling.
Garbage for sure...fireworks display over the stove, burnt feet from sparks, a bit of a smell but not lasting.
Smoked fair, didn't really last though and i'm not sure they got hot enough.
I think I may have had too much in bowl though, the top layer got real dark and crispy.
Is this normal, does the tobacco turn to actual ash or...???
When do I reload?

3. I tried King Moassel/Mixed Fruit...kinda' dusty, not alot of flavor, but good aroma once exhaled.

Enjoyable nonetheless, I'm super excited!!!
I hope to get some feedback so I can try again this afternoon smile.gif

If your tobacco is burning into dust then you most probably are doing something wrong.

It's not turning to dust...I was just asking what it should look like once it's done/used/ready to replace?
I still have pretty much what I packed in there after 2 sessions.

I replace my shisha after every session, but i know a few on here relight bowls.
When you're done ideally the whole bowl should be one solid black burned puck of shisha.

1. From the scrotum to the tip, foreskin pulled back. Wait. What was the question, again? laugh.gif
2. There are several brands of Japanese coal. I suspect they are manufactured in the same way or even by the same manufacturer. They are all roughly the same quality. Easy Lites seem to be about the same quality/manufacture as Chinese brands. I believe they are made in China and called Japanese coals. We all know how honest some of the business people in China are, using lead based paint on children's toys on their way to America, using anti-freeze in toothpaste.
3. It is not. It generally gets poor reviews. A guy I know and respect as a hookah smoker says great things about King. Maybe its just misunderstood, it needs to be packed differently or something like that. I can relate to it.
