Al Fahker's Irritation

Recommended Posts

I think SymptomCy has the right idea here....I have some tobacco that I let air out and smoke and it was perfectly fine. I DID smoke a brand new box of layalina banana last night i really liked it and I did not let it aire out first. I smoked it right from the UPS guys hands!

I have a bag of Tangiers that I purchased and it did this BAD for me. I had to take weaker drags to get past it. I will have to let it air out this weekend for 3-4 hours and then do it again and that will be my test subject.

Some people also said that they did not like the Layalina banana but hell...i loved it..it's really not a major taste either! just a smooth, slight banana smell and sweet taste. It does not compare to the peach or raspberry but it's nice....I just got a watermelon too.

Wow...I can't stop thinking about that tangiers and what it did to me!...I was almost ruined from hookah..ALMOST cool.gif I was coughing, tickling my throat each time and I needed to take a nap afterwards...too much for me....for a newbie anyways!

Tangiers is kind of a different thing altogether -- the Al Fakher / Layalina flavoring irritation is entirely different from the kind of irritation you can get from Tangiers, I think. With Tangiers, I think it usually is the nicotine -- with AF and Layalina, something weird happens with the way the flavorings vaporize. Or so it seems...

Yeah, tangiers is the only shisha that irritates my throat, but its definitely due to the nicotine. Dont get me wrong, its delicious, but it took a while before i could actually smoke it and not just nibble at it.

I have the same problem with AF Double Apple (Two Apples) I also burn it too quick and gets really harsh within 15mins

Yeah, i noticed the exact same thing with the AF 2xapple!..also, it tastes nothing like apple ohmy.gif ? More like a sweet licorice.

yeah me too...although NOT knockin' it...I frequin' enjoyed it tremendously. I just did not like the tingle in my throat from it...I might have to mix it with Layalina and do the same for Tangiers!?

anyone had a good mixture experience for Tangiers Blueberry and Layalina-?

When Tangiers is smoking its best, it shouldn't so much as tickle your throat, even a little bit. It's crazy the range it has... it can be incredibly harsh, and on orgasmic occasion, it can be super smooth (and THICK) with no bite whatsoever.

The only time I've ever felt irritation in the back of my throat was when I unwittingly smoked with my rusty cobra hoses. Got some new Mya hoses and it went away.

from my experiences, all the irritation is from underpacking. after sonthert explained exactly how the bowls heat up, it made even more sense.

tangiers only tickled or burned when i underpacked, even a little.

perfect packs have had no harshness at all...

shrug

Hmmm...well, I started lowering my pack about 1/4" because I had a problem with burning my shisha BUT since I did that I maybe putting less than i should. i will try Tangiers again tonight with my hookah and pack it a bit tighter but still not so much that it gets burned and let you guys know.

Only the tangiers and AF 2xapple did this so it's easy to know the difference and test it out.

Nicotine is one of the lower boiling point chemicals in the system, it could be nicotine.

1. Nicotine.
2. Humidity effects (doesn't sound like this case).
3. Temperature stabilization. As the temperature rises, until a more stable thermal system develops, harsh temperature areas may develop as the bowl gets hotter.
4. Overload of flavorings. It would be common practice for unstable flavors to overload them slightly so that it adds longevity to the smoke. Cherry is a good example. It seems real obnoxious and soapy for awhile, but cleans up. If it was balanced better, it would burned out a lot faster. I think this is a poor practice. I think a flavor should smoke well and be well balanced from the beginning as well as have endurance to keep smoking.

I've found that AF cherry is better mixed with another flavor than smoked alone, and this is coming from some one who is an AF fan...
