Got A Wii!

Recently my wii's disc reading system broke. I just got the replacement in the mail. Everything was still under warranty.

I've been through a decent amount of wii games of various genres. I think that Elebits was interesting to play but it's repetitive and the slowdowns in big areas... There aren't any stand out must haves that make great use of the wii remote's motion sensors except wii sports.

This console will get a bit boring soon since it has no advantages except just the motion sensors and the staple first-party sequels.

there are no or very few online games currently for the wii. you can not play other people online with it currently for wii sports. there are rumors they plan to but nothing out as of yet.

i say get zelda and wario ware are game you have to buy. paper mario was sort of ok but was not worth the money. zelda is just cool and wario ware with 2+ controllers and friends (drunk or not) is a lot of fun since the games are so short and easy. prince of persia is not worth the money as it is just the last prince of persia game remade. mario party was ok sort of but i say not worth the money overall. oh but dont forget to get some virtual console games. those are just fun biggrin.gif

Yes, get Zelda. You can never go wrong with Zelda. The Great Fairies aren't nearly as slutty as they used to be smile.gif

But anathema's comment worries me. What if Nintendo's made the same mistake that it's made in the past by creating these revolutionary products and just letting them sit out in the public, never developing new ways to utilize them? If Nintendo goes under, I go under too.

Only Pokemon Battle Revolution has online gameplay in the US. Don't know about the UK.

Super Mario Strikers is online and is has already been released in the UK market. I think it comes out july 24th?(i could be off by a month) on the US market.

Allia: The Wii will still have tons of games coming out for it the next 1.5 years. It has a huge console base so all the game companies are trying to cash in on the Wii since so many people have it.

I recently traded metalslug anthrology for warioware on craigslist, finished storymode in like 2 hours or less. It's only a great display of what the remote can do. Haven't played multiplayer yet but warioware will get old quick. Good thing i traded for it.

reprexmo? w/e i butchered it, too lasy to scroll up with the laptop. reprexmo: you can't link a wii but you can befriend each other by adding each other's wii friend codes. Then you can send mail to each other, and your Mii's will show up on your friend's Mii channels (if they're set on mingle).

With the announcement of NIghts: Journey into Dreams I think I'll have to buy a Wii (way too many fond childhood memories with my sisters and friends playing that game) plus I'm a huge Super Smash Bros fan.

nights was a great game which was on the sega saturn. involved you being a genie flying around and doing...something i forgot XD

well here is the description for the next one coming out on the wii.
The critically-acclaimed franchise that gave gamers the freedom to fly in a world of dreams is coming to the Wii™! As a fantasy jester called NiGHTS, you will experience a heightened sense of gliding, spiraling, and looping through seven extraordinary worlds of Nightopia where the ocean resides in the sky and glass-formed cliffs overlook a castle of mirrors. When the “Nightmarens” from the neighboring dark world of Nightmare infiltrate the idyllic Nightopia, NiGHTS must defend the dream world to keep it safe for all dreamers. NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams will take you in a voyage filled with courage, hope and inspiration.

really it was a good game but it got little attention. parents are complaining about the game as it is already because it "gave their children nightmares"

I really cant wait to be Solid Snake >.<, sure, hes not an original, but goddamn i really want to see how they work his mechanics into the game, hopefulyl it will be super successful.
apparently nintendo is just building up hype now, though they say they're "debugging"
the dude who made snake was in an interview and was like "the game is done, i've played it, its amazing, they should just release it now, it would sell incredibly well"

If you need info on any game, Gamespot.com is probably the best overall website.

SSBB has an official website updated weekday-ly. It has quite a lot on there now but they're just visual details, not much into the game mechanics, changes, and character lineup which is just hype trash imo. With an E3 announced release date of Dec 3.
Screw the screenshots, there's gameplay footage.

And adventure rpgs bore me, just like twiglight princess did. I'm looking forward to games like Alien Syndrome, SSBB, and Mario Strikers.

I'd rather have Nintendo hold SSBB for as long as they'd like; to fix every bug, tweak every move, explore exploits, and implement a competitive combat system(where each move has a counter and counters can be countered and counter-counters can be countered). It's a fighting game, it takes time for highly skilled gameplay to develop to find exploits, Street Fighter 2 for example. Edited by anathema

Shigeru Miyamoto said they made TP a little easier to attract a bigger audience. I wasn't the happiest about that, as easier means shorter lots of the time. I say screw the newcomers, keep true to the original plan but implement new ideas to keep it interesting.

If SSBB turned into a button-mash fest, I'd die a little inside. There are so many games like that out there all ready. The fact that it was a fighting game that involved characters I knew and loved brought me in, the easy to learn - hard to master gameplay made me a fan.
