Different Hookah Types?

Recommended Posts

Hey coop,

Here are all the different types that I can think of:

Chinese - generally machined, easy to find replacement parts.
Egyptian - usually hand made, generally more durable.
Syrian - same as Egyptian, also commonly made of Brass.
Lebanese - similar to Syrian.
Indian - usually made of steel or brass, glass vases are rare usually the whole thing is metal w/ a long wooden pipe to smoke from.
Iranian - not sure, but I think they are different.

That’s all I can think of. They each have their characteristics, so they are only better based on your needs. If you like modern style, machined look and the ability to get replacement parts easily go with a Chinese (Mya Saray is the best known brand). If you like traditional look, and durability and are willing to learn a little while using your hookah go with a Egyptian or Syrian ( Khalil Maamoon is the best known Egyptian brand and Nour is the Syrian). Smoke quality is subjective, it depends on a lot of things, and basically any type of hookah can smoke well even if you don’t know what your doing.

Hope this helps. wink.gif
