johnc21
Hi Everyone Im John, new to the forum so "hey" to all.Ok I have my hookah a long time now I have been using 3 kings coals which have never failed to let me down. However the place where I usually get my Coals and tobacco didnt have the 3 kings in stock only had the SOFRA wood coals, so I took them anyway thinkin they may be similar in design to the 3 kings .....WRONG its the weird stick long pieces that have to broken up!Ok now my problem, I light the gas and hover the coal over the gas and it goes a white colour. After a few mins I think they are hot enough meaning I can feel the heat from them. They go red when they are blown at, but they do not "glow red". I place it on the hookah bowl in the usual fashion and I take a few puffs and I get nothing!!So if anyone can shed some light to my situation or tell me where im going wrong, I would GREATLY appeciate it as I have a session most evenings with the comp. but now I cant and its irritating! Thanks to all who contribute to my dilemma...John
anathema
Maybe you're not letting it heat up long enough. It's like cooking meat, you gotta cook it on medium or the insides won't get done. But usually my friend just has logs, even though they're partially lit, when you pull on the hookah, the coals will glow and it'll help the coals burn. Usually need enough to fill the entire space on top of the bowl, since they're not as hot as quicklites.
