Shifty
I cant imagine this would work.. The stone would heat up, but it wouldnt stay hot as you need it to cook the shisha. Whatever you do, don't use Coals for the BBQ.
pinkfloyd[bbc]
wow nevermind we put it on the burner and the rock started jumping and popping so we put a pan over it and good thing it literally exploded into tiny tiny pieces... don't try this.QUOTE (pinkfloyd[bbc] @ Jul 9 2007, 07:36 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>what would happen if i heated a small smooth stone my friend found at the beach on the stove? would this work? anything i should look out for? hookah hippie
You would need something that will burn the stone can't retain the heat very well perhaps some kind of wood but be careful I am not sure how harmful that is.Do a little research first Edited July 10, 2007 by hookah hippie

Shifty
to think I have like 4 kilos of different types of coals sitting around. And I am still waiting on another Kilo of Smileys Coconut shell coals. You can never have too many coals.. They never go bad, never go stale, and are always good to have on hand.
Sonthert
It could work, but since there is no source of ignition, the rook will cool quickly. If you keep trading hot rocks back and forth, it might work better. The fact that you would have to have hotter rocks than you wanted means you would too much heat at some times and not enough others. It would be similar to the hookah heaters. Too many responses needed...by you and too much variability. Ignition of coal helps moderate the process somewhat.
