Hmm clay bowl, stainless steel stem, glass bowl. Been smoked a couple times and cleaned with brushes and water after every smoke so its not dirty, but it does smell kinda funky, anything specific I can use to clean it really good? I have some white vinegar, can I use that? or do I need to just use some soap and water?

I wash everything with water after each smoke, and then once in a while I fill the whole sink with hot water and baking soda, and let everything soak a bit, scrub it, soak some more, scrub, rinse, and dry.
Lemon juice works well, and leaves a lemony fresh scent/taste too, but i always have baking soda and i dont seem to have lemon juice unless i remember to buy it.

for my bowl, i turn the bowl on its side and pour about 3 teaspoons of lemon juice in it. then i take a toothbrush and scrub around for a little bit. because there is some lemon juice on the brush, i scrub the top of the bowl with it (its a shallow bowl because its stainless steel). rinse well with warm water.

for the stem, i use my thumb to plug one end and pour some lemon juice in it. i stick the cleaning brush in all the way until it pokes my thumb that is plugging the end of the stem. then i slowly turn the brush (usually in a counterclockwise motion) while slowing pulling the brush out. the stem is also on its set for this. when the brush is out i flush thoroughly with warm water.

for the base, i pour some lemon juice in it and shake it around then rinse.

thats it.

btw, i do this after every smoke. if i smoke more than once in the same day then i wait until my last session of the day. Edited by chinamon

I use a similar process to chinamon. Lemon juice always seems to get the job done, but I hear baking soda does well too.

Also, in reference to jaker's post about Cal's stash..

As long as the tobacco is sealed from open air, and stays in a pretty constant temperature environment.. You can get a lot of shelf life out of it. I have kept tobacco for over a year and got it out to find that it smokes just like the day I got it. It all depends on your packaging and the quality of the shisha.

cartman if that is your stash in that pic, how the heck do you smoke all that before the shisha goes bad?

EDIT: Thanks for all the help btw

Shisha takes a long, long time to go bad.
Also, when i smoke, i only do full bowls.
And when i smoke, i tend to smoke frequently. I seem to go through dry spells where i dont smoke at all, and spells where i smoke a lot.
