Purging With Auto Seal Stem

Recommended Posts

Hey, I just received my Mya Obelisk from H&S and I just realized, I don't know how to purge the chamber with these auto seal valves!  Is it even possible?  Can someone shed light on this subject?

Thanks,

Jon

The only real way to do it is to unscrew the adapter, purge, then screw it back in, I know some auto sealer mutli hoses come with a thrid hole that is screwed shut. Its usually made for a third hose adapter, but this would also make a better purging system for an auto seal.

I never understood why it wouldn't purge normally?

I dont have an auto seal hookah, but realistically if the ball bearing moves to open the flow when you inhale, it should move when you exhale from the other direction?
Of course, the hose you're using will seal when you exhale, thus negating the whole thing.

dubya, just remove the ball bearing from the auto seal valve you have the hose in, its very easy

if hes smoking only, thats what you would do. This would then justturn your two hos einto a single hose.

But if he wants to purge with two people smoking, it would defeat the whole purpose of have two hose auto seal as one person would have to constantly plug his hose.

If the air is flowing in the reverse direction against the ball bearing it will push the ball into the tighter end of the cone shaped hose piece, effectively sealing it shut. When the air flows the other way, the ball bearing moves toward the wider end, but is stopped by a screw or whatever, which allows air to flow around it and out of the hookah.
