Victim026
World First? Lol good try, I've been doin Kiwi heads for 2 years now, the main problem is finding a kiwi large enough... I still have yet to stumble upon a large enough grape, and believe me I've searched, but no grape strain that I've been discovered grows large enough. List of Fruits I've made bowls out of: Apple, Orange, Cantalope, Watermelon, Pineapple, Kiwi, Mango, Abiu, Star Fruit, Golden Passionfruit, Lemon, Lime, Papaya, Pummelo, Soursop, Guava, and last but not least mangosteen.....Fruit bowls are where it's at if a phunnel's not avalible, especially since I have the best upscale markets within 15 minutes of my house. stryet
That is soo crazy! So, what kind of base are you putting the kiwi on? It looks like you smashed the top of a head off and replaced it with a kiwi. Would that work?
ghostofdavid
Every large grocer should have an international aisle that carries canned mangosteen.
Victim026
I found mangosteen at a smaller "boutique" grocery store called Sun Harvest here in San Antonio, not sure if they have a chain but theres 3 or 4 here in San Antonio. All of my fruits either come from HEB Central Market, Whole Foods, or Sun Harvest. And on occasion from relatives I have living in South Florida or in Antigua in the Caribbean. djnick
is it me or do fruit bowls try to make up for the lack of using quality tobacco? personally i think if the tobacco is good enough you dont need anything extra in base or bowl

hookah hippie
To all fruit head crafters. How long does it take to make one these heads?
slayman1
I know i over exagerated by saying its a world first but at least i got your attention. When i made the head, all i did was scrape out the inside by using a special kiwi fruit knife/spoon.You can also use a small spoon but you have to be very careful as the skin is very fragile which makes it one ofthe hardest fruit bowls to make. When ever you make a fruit head, it makes the tobacco last much longer as the head doesnt heat upat all and that way the tobacco doesnt burn too quick and you can put much more tobacco inside.I just slid the kiwi fruit straight onto the pipe without using anything special.I also use a thick piece of foil at the bottom of the fruit with some holes punched through it soyou get better draw of smoke and the tobacco doesn't fall into the pipe.I wouldnt mid tring a mandarine and I bet its never been done before. If anyone has, please let me know so I know how it turned out.One more thing, as I am from australia, im trying to contact al amir tobacco company so i can export tobacco into australia but i cant get an email or contact. Can someone please help me out?
Tempest72
After work I am going to get a starfruit an make it a hookah bowl. Not only do I think it will look cool, It should have a good taste. If I do get off my butt and try it I will post some pics. Just think this one would be fun. Later Hookah Lovers!
Victim026
Just fair warning, a starfruit is a bit harder to get the foil to seal right due to the odd shape. So take your time and use lots of toothpicks to hold the foil in place....
Sonthert
Sinbad's does watermelons...they prop it up between two hookahs. Costs like $80 or something.
