Calcartman
There is a lot of information here if you just read about it.Ice in the water can be dangerous to the vase (rapid thermal changes can crack glass), but most people never have a problem. I occasionally use ice, but generally i prefer room temperature water.Lights and glowsticks in the base is kinda wierd. And I prefer foil, some prefer screens, its all personal preference! mrmonk7663
Ice in Vase checkFlavors to start with-Apple or GrapeGlow Sticks-nah, did it once, it suckedFoil or Grate-Foil, hands downInstead of glow sticks use food coloring if you want to add some color, this works awesome, and looks very cool. You could even use Kool Aide too, which would give you the color and extra flavor. Michael
Big Boss
I used one of these instead of a glo-stick, and it worked quite well.
cemab4y
Flavors? Personal preference here. My absolute favorite is Golden Al-fakher apple. It costs $15 for 250grams, but it is worth it. The tobacco comes wrapped in gold(colored) foil, and the package is a plastic hinged box, with a maroon colored lid. It is the smoothest most enjoyeable tobacco I have ever used, and I have been a hookah-fan for 10 years. You should get some and treat yourself. The use of Ice in the water? Yes, if you like. add the water to your reservoir first, and then slowly add the ice, one cube at a time, so to lower the temperature gradually, and avoid cracking the reservoir.Lights or Glowsticks? personal choice.Foil or Grate? I prefer foil, but sometimes use the grate.one thing you might consider. You can get ice trays from a novelty shop, that freezes the ice in 5/8 inch balls. The ice-balls, are just the right diameter to drop down the neck of a standard hookah reservoir. Once you begin smoking, the ice-balls "dance", and bounce around the reservoir with a very pleasing action, and a pleasant "clatter". consider it. Theophage
Personally, I've never understood the hype over putting ice in your vase. I just use cold tap water. I've tried both cold water and ice water, and I get a more pronounced flavor with cold water and smoke that is just as thick and smooth. For the record, I smoke mostly Al Fakher and Layalina out of a small phunnel bowl with mod. But hey, this is just my opinion, try both methods out for yourself and see which gives you the best results!
