ahzwald Posted July 12, 2007 Share Posted July 12, 2007 my second day with the hookah experiance and i love it. used to smoke a pipe, but not anymore. just mixed a bit of apple with some cinnamon, and boy, it is increadable. thinking i want to try some mint, anyone tried any? is it like menthol or more of a pepermint/spearmint thing? Starbuzz has a few diff mints too and I've been dying to try their Winterfresh that my sister told me about. Lol i guess hookah runs in the family. But yeah, mint is actually really nice when you mix it with diff flavors. cemab4y Posted July 12, 2007 Share Posted July 12, 2007 I thoroughly enjoy mint tobacco. I use it often, straight, all by itself. Layalina mint is excellent, but there are many good brands. Sometimes I mix the mint tobacco with other flavors. I use a strong non-flavored tobacco called "Zaghloul", and mixing this with mint tobacco, modifies the harshness.You can also get oil of mint, at the supermarket, and add a few drops to the tobacco, after you load the bowl. With the mint the one major issue is if you over pack or pack a big bowl it can get really lethal on the throat it feels like eating 10 pieces of dentene. So i usually do about 65% of what i would do of an apple bowl FYI.When i first bought my double hoser i had nakhla mint and we packed the bowl thjinking it was a huge bowl why not and it stung lol. i went down to 65% and it was amazing. RichL Posted July 12, 2007 Share Posted July 12, 2007 Having tried AF, Nakhla, Layalina and Al Waha mint flavors, I would definitely say Layalina mint is the way to go, it has the better flavor to it than the al waha and af flavor and is smoother than the nakhla.
