Echo_419
Well my MYA washable hose has sprung alotof leaks, so much that when you try to draw smoke through the hose you get nothing. I was thinking of wraping Electrical tape around the whole thing, or cut off the wooden ends, go to home depot amd get clear plastic tubing and attaching the wooden ends on there. Dunno what to do
jaker29902
go with tubing, easier and no tape chemicals
aldonb1
tubing... or put the hose under water blow find the leaks and hot glue them closed maybe?
xDizzyGuyx
buy a new one. no better reason out there. use tubing if you want to have a new one... but tubing is far less flexable than the hose you purchase if it's a good one
Calcartman
How did you get leaks in your hose? aside from poking holes, or melting them with coal, im not sure i get it.
Echo_419
I heard filling it with hot water and slamming against the ground cleans the crap out. It does but also phucks up your hose. I already have a new hose, just tring to make use of the old one.
SmokeMojo
Run hot water through your hoses.. plug both ends and hold one end up then the other and do it back and forth so the water kicks up all the junk. Let off one end, put it in the sink and blow through the other end. Repeat a few times.. Hang hose up from center with both ends pointing towards the ground and let drip dry. Eh and as for the person who reccomended pounding it of the ground, I'd let them know that it doesn't anything more than make you look like an idiot pissed off at a hookah hose.Even if it does loosen the particles.. You can get a clean smoke without doing it. Plus the blowing method is a lot less of a mess I'd imagine.
HookahPrincess
Actually I've seen a lot of people who've been smoking for years hit it against the ground, and it is effective. It doesn't really damage anything and doesn't make a mess either because your hands are plugging both openings. There are different ways to clean a hose and everyone has their own theories I guess. I've seen other people use an air compressor to spray right through the hose with someone holding it straight. You get to see all the particles fly out so that one's pretty cool too. But for your situation Echo, the new hose is gonna be better. Having a good hose is always worth the investment. Every now and then you'll need new parts for it. Good luck =) Edited July 12, 2007 by HookahPrincess
SmokeMojo
"Slamming" it off the ground just sounds too aggressive.. The air compressor works well too, but not everyone has one available. My buddy uses a compressor then rinses it out and blows through it again.I've seen people hang them from a wall and kind of toss them so they swing back and forth and hit it.. They don't just do that to clean them though, mostly to loosen the particles and then run water or air through them. Regardless, hot water will clean it better than hitting it off the ground.. The heat loosens the particles, kills germs and flushes out the hose.
Allia22
Meh, I'd honestly just replace it with some super-flexible tubing. It'll rust anyway, guaranteed.
