A Little Help ... ?

Recommended Posts

Hey ... I've had my hookah for about 6 years and recently the tabacco doesn't taste as sweet as usual, and it's brand new tabacco. We smoked the same stuff in my friends pipe and it tasted awesome! I'm just wondering if there's is something I can do or if it's that my hookah is too old ... perhaps I'm doing something wrong.

I've tried varying the amount of tabacco, the holes in the tin foil, the coal ... it just tastes like coal smoke with a very subtle sweet undertone.

Any help would be appreciated! smile.gif

... oh and does anyone know if hookahhub has an actual store location in Surrey BC? CHEERS GUYS! biggrin.gif

I noticed that in the Gemini after 6 months sad.gif I think the key is cleaning. Go absolutely crazy with vinegar, a toothbrush, and a new set of hookah brushes. Clean absolutely every part that comes in contact with smoke. Do the same with your bowl.

Whats the pipe made of? Like, what color is the part that comes into contact with water?

Sometimes you just need to put your old hookah into reitrement and get a new one. These things happen

If its the pipe, Somtimes you can refurbish it, if you really want to put in a bit of work. One thing you could try, that would be an easy solution, is buy a stainless steel pipe that is the same length as your current pipe (from tip to tip). First, measure the length, than measure the inner diameter of your existing pipe. Call up Speedy Metals (1-800-744-4140) and see if they cant give you a pipe that has the exact outer diameter of the inner diameter of your existing pipe and have them cut it to the right length. If they give you a choice, ask for the maximum inner diameter of the pipe they are selling you (better airflow). Should cost $10-20. Then insert this new pipe. This should alleviate any flavor contamination that cant be cleaned away.

You may want to try a new bowl or a new hose first if you haven't given that whirl yet. Edited by Hobocans

I would definitely try deep cleaning it a few times and seeing if it changes anyting before you buy a new one. But sadly, sometimes a new one is just better. Make that your last resort though because a really good cleaning usually does the trick, especially if it's been 6 years, and if you haven't kept up with the cleaning
